They couldn't have given the given the kilt a dirty wash to match the color better? Also the checkered pattern is wron too, it should go red, grey, blue, red.

Never mentioned in the preorder that there's a 2nd NON painted screaming sculpt .

You are correct. My bad. I was thinking of the interchangeable hair pieces.

I wonder if there was an issue with the "interchangability" of the hair pieces and it was simpler to just include a second head with the alternate attached. Generous and cool solution on KP's part, if that's the case.

This is what I'm wondering as well. Cool idea, if so.

Hmm, initial thoughts. Never was a fan of the screaming sculpt. I know they are making a neutral one though. As someone else has already said, I wish they would have released the blue screaming sculpt, the neutral sculpt, and maybe the Hamish sculpt together. The screaming sculpts, even though not spot on, look good though. The attachment points for the hair will need work. Puttied up, blended in, and repainted. The Hamish sculpt I'm sorry to say just doesn't look that good. I think the kilt will look fine with some weathering and abuse but the pattern is wrong. Leather vest or whatever you call it looks great and boots or leggings look great to.

Yeah, the Hamish sculpt doesn't look as good as the prototype. The kilt will need some serious weathering. I can do that but the color is pretty unacceptable. The screaming sculpt turned out ok, but they're not for me. I have NO use of the unpainted one, though it's a generous addition.

Didn't another company tease a William Wallace figure? I gotta be honest, I may wait to see what they come up with. I don't really like any of the heads here, and I'll only have to spend more money on the neutral down the line. Plus the kilt and the cheap looking shield. It's a lot not to be thrilled with for nearly $200.

PM sent.

I'm a fan of Kaustic Plastik, but the XXL line seems second rate compared to their excellent Romans. It may be an indication of where their true passion lies, whereas the XXL line is aimed at a more general market.

:goodpost: it's almost as though their using a different factory for this line. That Hamish sculpt looks like the kind of cheap paint job you got on Sideshow figures 10 years ago. And I'm sorry, but once again, the clunky, cheap looking hair is another example of how rooted hair could save these things a considerable amount. It's disappointing to see how the protos can look so good to have the final product look like it was done by a 3rd grader.

Im pretty happy with the Woad war paint head, Hamish isnt a shock as had low expectations so its ok. The picnic sash is hilarious, wrong colours indeed. Not sure how to dye this without losing the pattern, any ideas besides coffee out there?

Dye can't fix it. It needs a new kilt to get the patterns right

I would not worry about losing the pattern when dying it as long as you don't leave it in too long. The original colors should all still look different from each other.

Im just gonna make the thing myself

Sorry my links never work

The link worked for me, now there is no link at all. Is there a pattern there that matches? Don't see anything.

I put a few up cos have no idea if they work, glad one does anyway.
Id be happy with: 573, 555 or 565 with some nice weathering.

That purple and blue tartan is an embarrassment. Sorry guys, no amount of "weathering" or dye will turn the blue/purple pattern brown and red. Such a shame as it practically ruins all good aspects of this figure.
