I have to admit, looking at all those photos, maybe the color on the proto was wrong. Obviously, you can see that the colors are red, either dark grey or blue, and light grey, in that order. Other than the shades being off a bit, it does seem more correct than the nearly brown one originally shown. I now wonder if using tea will actually achieve a better look. Maybe a quick dunk in black dye? Man, you really only get one chance to do it right. Maybe we should see this technique KP wants to show us.

Are you off your rocker ?? Brave heart was absolutely fantastic !! Accurate depiction of William Wallace or not . It's 1 of my all time favorite films .
I agree, the battle scenes are some of the best in cinema, maybe the history buffs can get on their soap boxes and state all the Historical inaccuracies in Braveheart, it was 8 centaury's ago anyway. Basically they were accurate in what happened to Wallace in the end. He got hung drawn & quartered and then his body parts dispersed to the four corners of Great Britain.
The kilt is more red & black in my eyes maybe green
Not that anyone in Scotland wore a kilt until about 400 years after the Battle of Falkirk

I went to the movies .watched it . I bought the DVDs . Watched it . Bought the Bluray Watched it again .I must have seen this movie as much as JAWS . Never gets old . It's got everything in it . A beautiful love story , fantastic action , and it gives you a feel good emotional kick in the butt to stand up and take on the world . It's one of the few movies that gave me the ROCKY chills up the spine feeling .

Yup! That pic that Kaustik posted was the wrong kilt. That's just ridiculous. I am confused though because it seems like the proper pattern is on the leg wraps....so clearly they did create the fabric for it.
Man. This is becoming less and less appealing (IMO). That's a bummer.

I never fully understood the criticism that the movie wasn't historically accurate. It's not a documentary. If I wanted 100% accuracy, I would watch a documentary, read a book or take a class. Sure Gibson fudged some details here and there for dramatic purposes but the movie was entertaining as hell, hit the high points of his life and brought a spotlight on to what was an otherwise unknown historical figure for many lay people. The only disappointing part the movie excluded was the Battle of Sterling Bridge because that was an epic fight (think "300" but on a bridge instead of a mountainous pass).
If people use the excuse that this movie sucked because it wasn't accurate, then ALL Hollywood historical dramas must suck because none of them are 100% accurate. You only have 2-3 hours to tell a story and some times you have to take liberty with the details. Name me one historical drama that you loved and I guarantee we can pick apart all the inaccuracies of said movie.
Well... this was an expensive disappointment. This will either stay in the box, or I'll attempt to salvage bits out of this for something else. I guess I'll have to see what Kit or ACI/Pangea come up with for this. Unfortunate, this was a Grail figure for me.
