on the topic of yoda, if sideshow never makes one, hasbro is about to start releasing marvel legends level articulated marvel figures in gi-joe scale. that might be a good base to make a yoda from. how about spider-man painted green as a base body? or simply chopped up and used for the joints.

Nah, that won't work. Just held one of my Hasbro Star Wars figures (exact same size as the GI Joes) up to a 1/6th scale figure and they're way too small for Yoda.

Hmm.... YOu sure? I've got most of the old hasbro 1/6 yodas, and they seem more or less the same size . Bah. it matters not. Sodeshow would never not make Yoda, right? .... Right?

Yoda may require a unique body, perhaps they might do a Yoda 4-pack to justify it, all 4 representations.

I'm fairly certian Yoda will require a unique body, but the prospect of using it on 4 separate yodas, all released separately will likely be the ONLY reason sideshow actualy will do him.

Yes that would be awesome then when all 4 yoda's unite they can turn into Super Mega Yoda...... ok my friend has to stop bringing over the robot anime. :rotfl

I think they foresee a problem offering a small figure for that much money due to the perceived value.

I agree, and if they need a special body for him that will up the cost. But I can't imagine sideshow not making Yoda....

Y'know Darklord Dave was asking about environments that could accompany figures recently, and I think one that would be a real knockout that would work with Yoda is...his hut interior from ESB.

Do an awesome environment like that to accompany the figure and folks would be happy to pick up a smaller figure along with it that would create a great display piece on the level of Jabba's Throne.

Just a thought....

But....getting back to Mundi....my waitlist converted and it's gonna snow soon...I see the possibility of some very "Mygeeto"-like shots coming soon... :)

Those would be AMAZING!!! You could darken the pics a bit on Photoshop and make them look cloudy and foreboding...

Would he? If they made plastic sleeves to cover the joint works, I think they could make a fairly decent one out of the Hobbit body by just cutting the arm and leg lengths out and almost gluing the joints (like shoulder to elbow to wrist and hip to knee to ankle) straight together with maybe a 1/4 separation between them.

Which would be less expensive: making a new mold for Yoda, or the labor of cutting up a hobbit body and gluing the parts together for say, 3,000 units? On top of that, people would complain that it was makeshift. There is already a Hasbro Yoda. It isn't like there is no other 1/6 scale Yoda. If they do Yoda, I think he should be done right, with just as much articulation as any other figure, molded in color. They might be able to make an Ugnaught with a hobbit body, though.

Exactly. Companies make one-off bodies for 1/6 figures all the time. Both Hasbro and Medicom have done it for Yoda (though Medi's is technically a VCD). Who can't Sideshow do it? And why is it perceived that their 1/6 figures have to be cookie-cutter manufactured in order to keep costs at a reasonable level? As far as I know, this is no longer 4-5 guys making figures and model kits in a garage.

I agree Irish, it's just that They don't sem like they want to do unique bodies. Then again, they are doing it with Vader so who knows. TBQH, as the Mighty muppet is one of my all time favorite characters, They can go ahead and make a 1/6 yoda on a unique body and charge 180$ for him, and I'll be the first one in line to get him, PT or ot, I don't care. I just want a super articulated yoda in 1/6.

I canceled mine. I found out yesterday that I needed a new Radiator for my vehicle so I had to make a choice between Ki and the Fleet Trooper , so I choose the Fleet Trooper hands down.

I may pick up Ki down the road but of all the Jedi Aliens produced thus far , Ki is the one I'm Least Interested in.

Still have 2 Stormies on the way too!

Fun Fact: Silas Carson, the guy who played Ki-Adi Mundi and Viceroy Gunray was also the voice of the Ood in 3 episodes of Doctor Who...

I never knew that...
