I live in Ireland but I managed to get hold of a Kings Arts HulkBuster two weeks ago for a reasonable price considering what you pay for premium figures in Europe. Firstly, it is impressive and the size surprised me even though I was aware of if the dimensions of the figure. Detailing is amazing. Even though it an almost factory fresh paint scheme, there are some scuffing here and there.
Feature wise it has been well documented already so won't go into detail for that.
I did also get a MK43 to go with it, how could you not..and on its own the figure is really really good too.
I did struggle a bit to get it to fit inside, it is tight to get the MK43 in there, so caution is advised the first few times you try it, until you figure out how far you can go, how hard you can press etc. Inside there as some padding to avoid scuffing of the MK 43 at some touch points, for example the shoulders, lower arms and groin. I managed to rip a bit of the shoulder and arm padding in the HulkBuster....oh well.... but it is not a show stopper. In fact without it I think it will slip in easier perhaps. There is an additional sheet of padding included with the manual which is a nice touch.
The arms were also very tight to move at the shoulders forwards and upwards on mine, so much that I thought it was stuck, but needed some force to get it moving. It seems ok now.
I did not insert the batteries yet...there are ALLOT of them. Will need to do so to ensure that all the lights work.
I am not writing a full blown review here bit want to leave you with the following thoughts:
Over in Ireland getting a Hot Toys HulkBuster is almost twice as expensive, depending where you procure it from. Most likely it will be outside of the EU, and then be prepared for a nice customs add-on to the price.
Also the size of Hot Toys is too big for me with limited space, display and storage options and of course more pricey again.
King Arts have touched a sweet spot in regards to size and detail, which if you do not mind in 1/9 scale offers a real exciting option for Iron Man fans.
I am now agonizing if I should get some of the other King Arts offerings, when funds permit. I am strongly tempted.
Either way, for those who have it on order or are thinking about it...I am sure there will be no regrets, it is an amazing figure, looks great and will be a talking point in any collection.
Enjoy,
G
