Banner can't go to Skull Island. Skull Island sank into the sea following a massive volcanic eruption that occured shortly after Kong was taken away. Didn't anyone watch the Sci-Fi Channel "documentary" special they had when the movie came out? I think it might have also been included in the special features of the DVD release.

I haven't seen that special, but that does happen in SON OF KONG. It doesn't matter as the original Kong "dies" in 1933, and it's all just fantasy anyway. If they want to stick to "facts" that much, maybe Banner can go to Faro Island. If not, using Skull Island shouldn't be that big of a deal.
