Re: King of the Dead Vs Aragorn Diorama

I wish you guys would stop fighting. It makes me sad. :monkey2

Can't we get the High Elven and Haldir at the same time. :wacky :woo

Can't we just forget about the High Elven and concentrate on Haldir instead? :wacky :woo

Very wise words Frank! :lecture :naughty

Re: King of the Dead Vs Aragorn Diorama

how about specific characters for each race, like haldir then gil-galad. i do want to see them made as pf's!

the high elven infantrymen can come as a diorama piece (i'm just pulling this thread back to the diorama line:rolleyes:) and can be a good companion piece for the gil-galad pf.:naughty:naughty:naughty

Re: King of the Dead Vs Aragorn Diorama

I don't think there's anything wrong with the scenes represented in the Arargorn dio's, but the simple fact is that Frodo had the more classic scenes of the two of them. I'm trying to think of some classic Aragorn scenes and other than the "You bow to no one" scene [which just happens to also include Frodo] I'm having trouble thinking of any...... Please someone, help me out here!

Trouble with the Aragorn dios is that, so far, they've only depicted the "battle" stuff and he's had some great quiet moments. I've always thought that the Boromir death scene with Aragorn either leaning over him or making his vow to not let Gondor fall is about as classic as it can get. Or how about the moment where he is kneeling in front of his mother's gravestone wiping away the debris? Or Elrond (with or without his Mr Smith shades) presenting Anduril? Or he and Arwen at Rivendell and he refuses her offer to give up her immortality? Or him kneeling in front of Frodo at the Council of Elrond...."You have my sword" ???

Very much agreed Rumi my dear, and I would be a likely purchase for any of those but esp the Boromir scene and Elrond presenting Anduril (even if so non-book friendly); notably since GG failed at that depiction of Elrond so bad.

Other than the Boromir scene, which was an excellent scene, I'm just not feeling it for Aragorn. To me those other scene are OK, but nothing to write home about. And the problem with the Aragorn/Boromir death scene is that it is overshadowed by this one:

I don't see SS ever doing two dio's representing the battle at Amon Hen and I certainly know which one of the two I would prefer.

I actually think this scene would be perfect for a dio as is...Boromir on his knees, Lurtz readying the deathblow...and a few paces off to the side, Aragorn running furiously, ready to dive and tackle Lurtz. The scale of the piece may have to be adjusted to convey the proper sense of movement; if the size of the other human dios (i.e. The Treachery of Saruman, Shades of Mordor), the piece may be too big...

The problem with that scene is it would be done in two pieces with Lurtz and Boromir each on an island without the dead Uruk-hai in the middle like the Shades of Mordor exclusive. :monkey3

PS. My favorite scene in the movie is the Departure of Boromir scene. That gets me every time. :monkey2

Perhaps, but they might be able to pull it off [on one base] as Lurtz and Boromir are not that far apart. Certainly nowhere near as far as Frodo was from the Ringwraith's before the WK left the pack in pursuit of him.
