I see what you mean buddy, but I think it was less controversial with the frodo dios for two reasons: a) The price b) the fact that these were extrememly iconic scenes from the films. IMO the KOTD encounter is cool but hardly iconic (especially as they didn't actually fight ) and the same can be said for Aragorn fighting two random Uruks (as much as I really like that dio)

In other words these two aragorn dio's seem to be made simply because they involved Aragorn, not because they especially needed the dio treatment...in my opinion of coarse

You are right about that GG. I do think the scenes involving Aragorn are pretty good, but they certainly aren't in the same category as the one's involving Frodo. And it can certainly be argued that they were done simply for the sake of making dio's involving Aragorn....though I actually don't think that is the case with the Helm's Deep dio. I keep thinking [maybe hoping is a better word] that it is merely a companion piece to a future Helm's Deep Legolas and Gimli dio.
I'm just making the point that while it is another Aragorn piece , there are some things that are different and set it apart from the Helm's Deep version.

i'm hoping for the same thing sir. i posted on a LOTR wishlist thread here at sf that it would be nice to have at least two more connecting pieces of the helm's deep dio, much like the treatment dc direct did on their JLA build-a-scene statue. aragorn vs the two uruks could be the middle part, to the left maybe legolas back to back with gimli vs more uruks, and to the right maybe haldir and an elven archer vs even more uruks.

i definitely would be getting these without batting an eyelash. for this clash of the kings dio, i'm still having second thoughts.

Yeah, I too would jump all over a companion Helm's Deep dio. As for the "Clash of Kings" I'm sure I will eventually add it to my collection as it looks pretty good from what I see so far. The nice thing about the dio's is that we can get them for significantly less than retail once they are released......and I don't think this one will be any different.

exactly! if i'd be able to get this dio from the secondary market at a much cheaper price, then why not? good thing with our distributor here in the philippines, if a piece "stagnates" in his store, he gives it to whoever's interested at almost more than a third of the price off! i was able to get my balrog lsb from his store at US$260, from the original price of US$399! that was my very first piece of polystone! and i've been impressed with most of the pieces i got since then.

Congrats on your Balrog it is a fantastic bust [one of my favorite LSB's], and yeah, I'd have say most of SS's LSB's, dio's and PF's are quite impressive.

I hadn't even thought of that, but it's a great idea. I would love something....anything Haldir-related. He is a character that has been ignored far too long.

yup, i agree. i think there is a very slim chance of haldir ever making it as a pf, though i know he'd make a superb premium format, so maybe a diorama is the next best thing for him to have his polystone debut. besides, since the first dio was aptly called "wall of helm"s deep", i think it would do the piece real justice if there would be an actual, imposing, solid piece of wall over there, so maybe at least three pieces of the dio could do it, like how dc direct'd JLA build-a-scene statue was made.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the scenes represented in the Arargorn dio's, but the simple fact is that Frodo had the more classic scenes of the two of them. I'm trying to think of some classic Aragorn scenes and other than the "You bow to no one" scene [which just happens to also include Frodo] I'm having trouble thinking of any...... Please someone, help me out here!
