Nobody said it was their names. I do agree, in such a tragic accident, the last thing that should happen is someone poking fun at it in this way. Would it be funny if everyone got away with a few scratches and bruises? Yes. But if people, especially teens, die with grieving parents and families left behind it's not something you should joke about right now. I admit I had a chuckle but it's not something to poke fun at in such a way this early.

But.....but......if it were the teens names, I could understand people being upset. But....but.....

Oh well. I'm just bad.

You guys do realize that it wasn't the ones who died names, but the pilots names that they got wrong.

making racial slurs in the wake of the deaths of three is appalling. even without the deaths, it's not acceptable. i believe the 'intern' that typed the names into the teleprompter was the culprit. this also may prove the lady reading the teleprompter doesn't listen to anything coming out of her own mouth.

And I still don't see where it's a racial slur, but then, where I was raised, there's every creed and color under the rainbow here, side by side, and people don't take themselves that seriously I guess. We don't look for the hate like others do.

I guess I should've been offended on how I got my Ween name since people were making fun of my real one.

Australian society, probably much like American society, needs to find a balance between respecting others and being able to have a laugh. Often laughter is not malicious but instead relieves tension from a situation. Those names being read out on live news TV was absurd. I think people, in laughing at that, are reacting more to the absurdity of it than because it appeals to their inherent racism.

Oh the pc world we live in today....I can't imagine what it's going to be like for my children. Will they know what sarcasm is, practical jokes, or god forbid they even try to start a joke off with a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar.

I don't think so either..I don't think in a million years this intern thought this would ever make this to the air. But in the medias haste to get it there it did.. So the egg is on them. I think it's more on them then the intern in my opinion. They should be double checking everything the interns doing, especially if its going on air..lol
