Just got Kurgan in.....overall I am very happy with my 12"..the clothing is top notch and reflects his apperance in the movie pretty well...I only have a couple complaints...first his head sculpt seems to be less detailed then the severed head that came with Connor...I am not talking about the face, but rather his head....the scaring on the head that came with Connor was very deep and bumpy...the scaring on Kurgans head seems less detailed(poor paint job & not as deep).....his tattoo seems to be less detailed than on the head that came with Connor....It seems like he was"rushed" or something...the fine detailing that was on the severed head that came with Connor was much better....Overall I am happy with him.....

Now I want an Origins Kurgan...

King, any pics ???? No one has post any yet :monkey2 .I'd really like to see what he looks like.....

I agree...I've never seen such an active collectors board in my life with so many members who don't have cameras...................

Kurgan should arrive today, and I just got a Canon Powershot, but the pics I tried to take last night were blurry. I plan some further photographical experiments when I get home tonight! I will try my best!!

Got my Kurgan exclusive yesterday. Overall, I like him, though there are a few minor problems. The sculpt, while not perfect, is decent, and I like the 'bigboy' body, though the shoulders are a bit odd. Kastagir's head is just cool, and the costume and sword are very nice. So what's my main complaint...his BOOTS.I clearly remember him wearing some type of combat boots; the figure has on friggin' cowboy boots! Needless to say, they have to go. Just have to find a decent picture(so far no joy) and then buy an appropriate set from some after-market vendor(of which there are about a million). Ah, the things we do for our hobbies.
And, for those who are interested, Sideshow has good pix of the figure on their site...PS

The reason we ask to see actual product pictures is because they do change from protos to production.

I think he wore a type of biker boot, not combat. A cowboy style boot would look similar.

And where are the pics?????

I am working on pics now, but I have had a digital camera about as long as I have had Kurgan, so please understand my delay in posting pics.

Kurgan is pretty good, but has the unfortunate luck to arrive 24 hours after Luke. The face sculpt isn't necessarily a bad portrait of Clancy Brown, but the expression is what is troublesome. I think it is meant to be a sneer, but it comes across as an overbite or sorta "duh" expression. The detail isn't as sharp as the severed head, but still retains a lot of nice detail. The neck pins (a huge selling point for me) look great, and there is a slight amount of gloss to the wound.

The leather jacket and pants look great, with several plastic "metal" studs around the collar, and a swatch of purple fabric tied around the shoulder strap. One element on the coat that is replicated well is the fringe, or cords, represented a row of threads along the back and several pockets of threads along the bottom of the coat. The left sleeve (the only sleeve) is loosely attached with threads, but is a separate piece. The chains on his jacket aren't chains, but gray/silver mesh fabric, which is the only disappointment with the outfit. There are zippers as well on various points of the jacket that are done nicely.

The packaging is pretty standard, and again I got spoiled with Luke, as Kurgan had a giant twistie-tie under his coat, under his shirt, around his torso. Pretty inconvenient, but the previous standard for Sideshow. Hopefully all of the lines will move toward the packaging style of Star Wars to keep figures in the box.

The sword is awesome, and quite huge, but doesn't come apart. Man I wish it did, and came with the giant suitcase! Sunda Kastagir's head is nicely done too, not sure about the likeness though, as Highlander isn't that fresh in my memory. The stump portion seems to be lifted from Kurgan's severed head.

He looks great with Duncan, but it is a little bit of a buzzkill to get this average Sideshow figure (still better than most everything else out there) after getting the nicest 12'' figure I have ever seen a day before!

I apologize for the verbosity, but I wanted to give everybody my thoughts on this one. As soon as I figure out the furshlinger camera, I will post pics.

Yeah, that really sux, sorry I dont have a dig camera..One of these days I will get aroung to getting one but with soooo many things on preorder and regular bills to pay(stupid bills)...it may be awhile...

Will someone kindly post some pictures if they can? I have one on waitlist, which sadly hasn't been bumped up yet:rolleyes: . I guess I will just have to purchase the regular version in a couple of weeks if it doesn't pan out.

Cheers,

Brad

I am stopping to buy a USB cable tonight on my way home from work, so I should have some pictures posted then.

(When did things like this and printers stop coming with the cables needed to hook them up to the computer. Damn the USB mafia!!!)

Well, for me the best part is the severed head which I am trying to adapt into being Astronaut Dodge's from Planet of the Apes.

I got mine yesterday. While I would still rather have an Origins Kurgan, the modern one isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I like him a lot.

I open everything, but am thinking of holding off on opening him in case they do make an origins Kurgan, (in which case I would sell the modern one just the same).

I recieved mine Friday and was a little dissapointed by the likeness. But after removing him and posing him, he is growing on me. The outfit is top notch. The body is very similar to Hellboy's. His neck is a little limited in range due to the safety pins on his neck. Had this figure had Clancey's bug eyes he would have looked perfect. All in all I am pretty happy with my purchase, but will admit this is not SS best sculpting effort.

I got mine last week and I agree with other's comments. The sculpt is pretty good, but the expression is odd and the detailing really isn't quite as nice as the severed head. The body style is great and he really towers over the Luke figure. I'm at work right, now but I can post pictures tonight if no one else does first... but I really think they kept close to the proto-type figure, so if you like that you should be pleased with the final product.

Hey guys here are a few pics, the quality could be better though

What's with another figure having the partially open mouth? I would have liked to have seen that crazy grin he had. Here he looks a little subdued. I do like the costume and accessories. Anyone else have pics?
