The likeness looks as bad as ever to me, but the outfit and sword look great.

I agree with Batty, he should've had a sadistic grinning expression. Maybe that's what they were going for, but if so, they missed the mark.

Even though i like this piece, I must admit the pics make the sword look better than it is. ....it's a thin flexible soft plastic thingy..lol. The outfit is what makes Kurgan IMHO, but overall I'm happy with him

Received mine today (in Australia) after chasing Fed-Ex yesterday - it arrived at Herston on Monday 7:30am and didn't leave till Wed 9:30am and I received it Wed 3:30pm. That mightn't sound that bad until you consider - 2 days to go from Sideshow in Los Angeles USA to Brisbane, Australia. Herston and my work are about 1 kilometer apart and it took almost 3 days for that leg!

The sculpt is better than the pre-production and from some angles it is a better figure than the sideshow figures might illustrate. The height is good but next to my Origins Connor it emphasises how oversized the McLeod Broadsword is (I have both the Kurgan and McLeod Broadswords as real size replicas and there is at least one foot of extra length on the Kurgan sword.)

After Luke last week and the Kurgan this week - Alex Krychek is next week.

Hopefully my Werewolf Oz and Nazi Kroenen turn up from the US next week as well :)

My bank balance may be truly sad by my collection is going great guns!

Thanks Chen for the pics!!! I personally don't think he looks that great. The sculpt looks a bit off....but I want him anyways. I just hope I can get one off of the waitlist. I shouldn't have waited since I knew that I was going to eventually get him anyways. Overall, the outfit looks fantastic, the sculpt is slightly below average, especially for a company like SS. I kinda was hoping that he would look better in person, ala Connor. Oh well, they all can't be Duncans!!

Cheers,

Brad

If I get time I will post some pics on friday when I'm off. I've had mine for a week but haven't had time to open it. The sculpt is pretty bad in the box but I'm hoping my glasses are just dirty.

As a Highlander fan, I just bought Connor, and now I'm really wanting the Kurgan. Does anyone know if a website still has it available for order?

So folks bought this one, but everyone was claiming they wouldn't buy Ramirez if it didn't look like Connery? C'mon, if you bought this one, and let's admit it, you didn't buy it for the sculpt or outfit, you'd buy Ramirez.

Both the exclusive and regular editions are sold out from SS...although regular editions are going for pretty cheap on ebay!

Unfortunately, I have yet to see the Kurgan on eBay. I have seen quite a few Connors and Duncans, though.

I saw a regular edition BIN for $35.00...but that was about a week ago....with only 1,000(reg. & exc. combined) they may be hard to find....but with many being unhappy with the sculpt I'am sure some will surface..

Though this looks like a good figure from SSC, I think they really missed the mark with the HS. I agree with others who said he should have had Clancy Brown's evil grin. Aside from that I don't think the sculpt even resembles Brown much.

That having been said, it's a must-have for diehard Highlander fans. Even for casual fans, you gotta love that sword.

Maybe someone can commission Auret over at OSW to make die-cast metal version with moving parts?!?!?!!?!?

I'm considering making a cast of the one that came with it and making a briefcase version ;)

Boy, you know what you have really been nice? If Sideshow had actually done the Highlander line justice and made a Medieval F'n Kurgan. :lecture
