yea and just play up to the homicide cases no need to do the rest of the game after that .

Why would you say that?
The games main story starts after homicide finishes and makes up the 2nd half of the game. The vice + arson section is all one overarching story about police and political corruption tying in to the plight of returned soldiers and is the reason to actually play the game.

No problem, I'll admit that I hated Cole's flaw as well, but it made me start thinking, and the more I thought about it, the more I started to accept and understand it. I don't agree with it, by any means, but I started to understand it more.

I don't think that his relationship with Elsa was simply a sexual one, and I think it just developed into one. Here is Cole Phelps, an honest, incorruptible man who was uncompromising in his virtues, no matter what was at stake. He is a man who is so just, the idea of him being unfaithful is unfathomable.

Here is Elsa. She is a German in a post-war America, and a morphine junkie caught in the middle of it all. My belief is that Cole had what some would so aptly describe as a savior complex. However, in trying to protect this woman, he fell for her. Maybe I'm looking too deeply into things, and she was just shoehorned in to make Cole into that flawed detective stereotype, but what I posted is what I believe.

I would love to see another one of these games made... was a lot of fun.

I never understood the praise this game got. Yes the visuals were great but there is next to no chance to explore the "open world", every case ends in a foot Chase and the story takes a wild turn to stupid 3 quarters in. The good part such as the conversations and interrogations are nothing more than you're avergae Telltale game achieves now a days anyway so I feel like a remaster is entirely unwarranted.

It was a kewl game.

The world was huge and detailed but pretty pointless as there wasn't anything to do in it.

Definitely one of the most memorable games ever. Not really a Rockstar game, fully made by a small studio in Australia....which accounts for most of the games issues.
Visually one of the most amazing sandbox worlds ever made .... and almost completely barren.
A little too specifically focused. Being a straight laced cop was a brave choice but meant there was no opportunity for GTA bad buy style shenanigans.
If you had of played a dirty cop (The Shield style) then they could have allowed a lot more variety and choice.
A well told story that sits at the top of 'what game would make the best movie'. The revelation near the end that ties some of the various plots together is pretty shocking.

I've always wished that Rockstar would use the game engine to create a sequel or create some stand alone episodes on the same map.
Cool they've remastered some missions for VR but they should create some new ones. Doesn't even have to be the same type of game.
Do some GTA style action type stories and missions in 1940s LA.
The map and aesthetics is too good to just let it go to waste.

That was what I gathered watching several vids. It seems the game world was mostly wasted. But the gameplay itself was good.
If I cave in I would get the Switch version.
