He did say "the regular". I'm of mind to agree. If I can score the regular at 25%-30% cheaper 6 months later it may be worth it. But that doesn't mean I won't preorder it, then cut it later.
With the way prices keep increasing, I'm of the mind to almost get all my figures 6-12 months late...exclusive be damned. I rarely use most exclusives as it it.
If SS made their exclusives worth a damn i'd be there every fri at PPO. But it seems they are more concerned with not pissing people off and making exclusives that are neat but not musts. I would love a super cool exclusive everytime that would make PPO chaos even if it meant i might miss out.
I think they have stated officially that is their goal with exclusives.
Don't even really have to be "musts". Just something that is so COOL you would want it regardless. (not that the character would be incomplete without it, just something real cool)

Just something that isn't 2 cents worth of plastic and paint would make me happy. Size matters. With Kit Fisto, I see every cent of the $8 more it cost for the exclusive. Same for cloaks, helmets, even guns there is a bit more satisfaction. But stuff like a lollypop commlink or lembas bread just doesn't seem like its worth it.

I just see them as fun tibits that Sideshow throws their fans. Doesn't matter if you get the figure from them or joe blows collectibles on the internets, they still get your money.
As far as I know, the skimpy Ex. itemes you're referring to don't make a difference in the item price, only the significant ones like Kit Fisto and Bespin Han.
Regular and Ex. Lando should be the same price.
I think he was saying that he would pay the extra few bucks if the exclusives were more substantial.

Yeah. I can go to an etailer like Alterego and save 10% by skipping the exclusive. Or I can wait a year and save even more by getting the regular from another collector.
So I can save anywhere from $10-$30 by skipping an exclusive. I probably wouldn't sell the BD head or mynock for $30 so I feel like I have a added bonus. Stuff like lembas or Boussh's gun or the Bespin tourniquet I just don't feel I should be paying very much more for it (edit: like I used to feel when prices were much lower).

Yeah, the exclusives generally are not must-haves. But I can use it with him in a display so no problem with owning it.
I tend to agree, Prog. That Mynock exclusive just made the hassle (and excitement) of the PPO all that more special.
The Bespin lollypop is just not as exciting. Not sure what exclusive item could have replaced it, though. I'll still be there tomorrow, hoping to get mine and watching the SS servers melt down...

No doubt the only exciting thing about this exclusive is the ES of 750.
