I had it done last year and it was the best decision I've ever made. The procedure itself, while very quick isn't pleasant, it is well worth it. I have had no side effects, no halos, no night vision problems.

my doctor just told me that 1 in 1000 will go blind.... that scares me.

they have now, or are coming out, with a surgery where they put a permanent lens over(or maybe replace) your lens, no lasering or anything. if they ever need to they can go in and replace that permanent lens. i think i'm going to go with that one but it's like 3-5k per eye.

Cool! Thanks Anzik. I will let you know how I make out. I am a bit nervous both in the wallet and what to expect.

:lol :lol :lol

Well, there really isnt much difference between BC & Badmoon.

We can just refer to him as BM, like bowel movement.

Come on now King. LOL! I wouldn't go as far as to call me a bowel movement. LOL! I would be more like peeing out of you arse. LOL! At least to some. :D

BM, I had Lasik about 3.5 years ago and it's easily the best decision I've ever made. You won't regret it for a second.

Cool glad to hear. Most people say that but I'm still really nervous. It will be amazing to wake up and not have to put on contacts or glasses to see.

I had it done. It was the greatest thig I ever did. I was very nevous too for days before the surgery after reading the paperwork. I thought about and I ws like this guy did my Eye Doctor of about 16 years whole family, plus even Tiger Woods. The day I went it and was fine. One tip if you are one of those people who it takes a long time for meds to kick in or one of those who meds don't last long let them know.

I wore glasses and contacts for 32 years, I thought that was long enough.

On og my Tai Chi students is 57 and he had a radial keratotomy done 25 years ago and his vision is still 20/20 with the exception of needing reading glasses.

Yeah but its pretty obsolete these days. The laser they used on me, actually has a computer that tracks your eye so it stays on target the whole time. When they do the initial cut on the lens, it is very hard to focus on the blinking light you need to look at but the whole process is so quick its over before you know it.
My eyesight went from 20/300 to better than 20/20.

I had all laser lasik, they make the flap with a laser instead of a blade, and use the laser to do the correction. I went from 20/500 to 20/15.

Just recently had cataracts removed from both eyes. My surgeon implanted "permanent" lens to replace the bad ones that he removed. Along with the advantage of no more cloudy vision, those lens also gave me 20-20 vision in one eye. To avoid having to wear reading glasses, my surgeon purposely kept my other eye a bit myopic (near-sighted) and I now have monovision. Haven't worn glasses since May. It's a miracle.
