I can understand people not being impressed with the trailer, the lack of dialogue doesn't give much for them to get into.

Probably won't see it in trailers until it's out, maybe not even then. I for one got sucked into the overall tone they seem to be keeping.

Brace yourself, between the cost of CGI and history, Godzilla tends to occupy about 1/3 of screen time in all his movies, even less sometimes.

Decided to make it a Godzilla night tonight. Going to watch the original 1954 Gojira and maybe Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) after that. Or maybe Godzilla: Millennium. Not sure.

I just hope from what we do see of him, it stays in your mind long after he's off screen. I wouldn't want to see him abused and in your face the whole time, kills the flavor.

It's all about timing and visuals.
Even 3 minutes enough if done properly.​

The poster and the perspective of the trailer gave me a concern. I wonder if this film is going to follow the modern trend these films tend to have with the focus being on the military and them being the hero of the film. All these films like this have to throw in this rah-rah military propaganda, but in the real Godzilla films the military almost always failed. It was science that was the weapon used to repel Godzilla. Furthermore, it was a scientist who used it and sacrificed himself to keep it from being used as a military weapon. I hope Edwards made that distinction in this film. I always felt it was important that intellect was used to stop Godzilla and not "conventional" weapons.

I'm actually very interested in the human characters. Since they're actors I like. I'm looking forward to the emotional anchor they'll bring.

Aside from maybe the way it's filmed when they charge out of the plane....it looks like every other scene I've seen of soldiers jumping out of the back of a plane from way up in the sky.
