Got mine today. It's really heavy. Lego didn't put any bubble wrap.

When I got mine yesterday I noticed that it was the first time I've ordered something from LEGO in which they taped the bottom of the box. The set is so heavy that I wouldn't be surprised if a few boxes were coming apart during shipping.
Only the top of my box was taped, the bottom of the box that was folded together was very loose. No worries though. Everything was good. i got thru bags 1-3, which make up the first floor from what I can see. Great set and fun to do so far.
And coincidentally when I started putting together, I put on the TV and Ghostbusters was just starting on IFC.

I wanted to set up my bigger Matty Stay Puft next to the firehouse, but he was too tall for that shelf. The Diamond Select Bank will have to do.

Wow that was quick. I didn't even start building it. Might have to get that bank.
Yeah, I got it on Thursday and spent a good amount of time on it over the weekend. There are ALOT of small pieces that really hurt my fingers by the end of it.

Man, I was going to pass on this due to the price, but it's such an impressive piece, I can feel myself caving in! Looks even better with the Ecto-1 (which I also don't have). I just watched the developer video above, I was surprised to hear this is the third biggest set of all time. That's damn amazing!

The 8" DST bank looks great with this one. I would just stick with that over the humongous one.
That's my plan. I liked the look of the big one standing taller than the firehouse. I would have had the busters on the roof then. But this one does look great.
I want to figure out if there are any pieces I could use to make a proton stream. I have a DST bank of a burnt stay puft that would look great with that set up.

When I first saw the price and original picture I was going to pass also, but after seeing the pictures above..Holy Crap! That looks awesome! Lego needs new advertising pictures.

Welp, two days later and I now have both the Ecto-1 and the Firehouse on the way. I'm both very excited to put them together, and contemptuously disgusted at my lack of willpower.
