Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Oh okay thanks. I always wanted to get into legos, the interested spiked up with the announcement of the DC and Marvel series. Star Wars is always a plus

They were cheap the first 5 or 6 years. But now it's crazy expensive. I have every set so my pockets have been bleeding for years lol.

not much, just wanted to share:

my first SWL. Looking to pair this up with a vader TIE and some AT-ATs. :D

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

I dont really think so for Star Wars.. most of the set designs were a big MEH, and some even looked horrendous. The good ones (e.g. Sith Interceptor) are over-priced IMO

Jabba's Palace for example looked like a hut in Naboo

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Loving that Jabba set, but 120 msrp seems a bit high for such a small set. Guessing the number if mini figs is playing into that, but still a bit much considering the brick count of the set.

I do think it's high too. Of course I'll be getting it in any case.

The brick count is a bit low for that price... but you are getting a lot of pretty cool and unique pieces out of the set that seem to bump it up a bit IMO.

Where did you hear about the $120 msrp? I checked brickset, bricklink and fbtb and couldn't find the price for the jabba set. I was thinking it should be about $80 since it has just over 700 pieces. If anybody is gonna be in town (Seattle) specifically for the brickcon later this year, let me know, I'll be there. They usually have a specific afol room and events.

Edit: Nevermind, I saw the price on the flickr video page. I don't think that is right though, cuz they have the price for the Malevolence at $120 too and that is 1,101 pieces. So I'm figuring it will probably end up being around $80 or so. Hope I am not proven wrong.

This Queen Amidala looks awesome. I'm so glad they are finally releasing a minifig of her.

^ She looks like a chest piece. It's cool to see her though

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Huge Lego fan and I have a lot of the older sets. I am slowly getting back into it but ____, trying to go back and collect some of the older UCS Star Wars sucks! That stuff is way to expensive now on the secondary market.

:welcome aron, hope you like it here so far.

Those older SW sets are what got me back into LEGO as an adult, I remembered playing with them as a kid and I thought it was so cool that the two properties had gotten together. The UCS ships are just awesome and so fun to build and display, like the AT-ST. I still luv my old UCS Star Destoyer but the new Executor has replaced it as my favorite. I highly recommend the Imperial Shuttle, it can be displayed either in flight mode or landing positions, and Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter which is now on sale and a bargain IMO.

I know right! Some of those prices tempt me to sell mine. :naughty

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

You were the chosen one! It was said you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the force not leave it in darkness!

I'm doing the best I can with the material I was provided with!

You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you.

Dont wait very long SK, or you might miss it. That's what happened to me with the UCS Falcon. I just could not afford the $500 price tag at the time and then it was gone. Now it's priced ridiculously on the secondary market up to something between 2-3 Grand, ridiculous!!!

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

My very small Lego collection, many of these are presents from friends, since I'm not a Lego collector myself:

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

I like when LEGO puts two different faces on one head. It think it gives the figure, as well as the whole set that the figure comes in, alot more versatility. Both as a playset for the kids and display options for the adult collector.

Set 9494 (mustafar anakin) is flying off the shelves with Target's $5 off coupon.
