Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

I've been trying to get the iconic vehicles from the OT, so I have the Tie Fighter, Vader's Tie Fighter, Luke's X-Wing, Y-Wing, Millennium Falcon, landspeeder and snowspeeder. I still need some sort of AT-AT and I'd like to get the Deathstar and the Star Destroyer at some point. What else am I missing?

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Tantive IV, Speeder Bike, AT-ST, Slave I, A-Wing, B-Wing, Imperial Shuttle, Tie Interceptor, Tie Bomber.

A lot of goodness on those lists and a lot of repetition as well. I guess LEGO likes to redo stuff every so often. I guess it gives n00bs a chance at ghee, though.

How are shipping rates on LEGO.com?

After looking at my SW 1/6 To Buy list, I don't know how realistic it will be to include spending for LEGOs as well. :(

I'd say VERY fair, and remember any store exclusive is always available directly from the LEGO stores or their website. Don't buy anything at TRUs.

Wait for sales.

You know, the few sets I bought are all REALLY awesome but a part of me wishes I never even started.

I hate you. :nana:

Oh, and good morning boyos!!! :wave

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Morning, Nick.

No, they're fantastic... Really the very best SW toys that can be bought at the brick and mortar level.... Still, they take up room. I'm gonna quit while I'm ahead.

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

The new Falcon is really badass... but be prepared to spend a few hours on it :lol I made the mistake of sitting hunched over the coffee table and when I was done felt like I'd been tossed down a flight of stairs :lol

Its sad when "I'm too old for this ____" starts to apply to you :lol

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

Yeah, you gotta get comfy. I spent about a week off and on the UCS Stardestroyer.

I did the MF in three sessions... The first was a good three hours and I ended up goign to bed that night dreaming of Lego parts. :lol The second two were short; like an hour long each... You did the whole thing in one pop?

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

A little birdy hinted that I might get this Friday for my birthday...

Yeah, it was like 4 hours straight... once my daughter fell asleep I opened the box up, put on some background TV and started assembling :lol

I had meant to stop after a bit, but once sections of the ship really started taking shape I kept telling myself, just a few more pieces. I was sore as hell when I got up and quickly realized the error of my ways :lol

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

I'm about to go down a path I probably shouldn't.

What's a good OT set that's going to be the hardest to get if I wait much longer? What I mean is one that's been available awhile and is starting to dry up at retail. I noticed Lego.com mentioned the Landspeeder and Y-Wing were hard to find. Would those be the ones to start with?

The Landspeeder has been out the longest I think and I'm surprised it's still available, so I would say get that one as soon as you can.

Re: LEGO Star Wars - anyone?

I never finished the Death Star. As it turns out, I'm too lazy for Legos.

I sit on my couch and work on the set while watching TV, either right on the couch next to me or on the coffee table, that way I can just stop and watch some boobtube once I start feeling sore.

I know exactly how you feel. It seems I'm starting to say that exact same thing to more and more things every year.:gah:

You are gonna luv it. It is currently my favorite set.

^^ Lucky!

I don't get crap for my birthday.

If I want LEGO for my birthday I have to get them for myself, and I do.

I do the same thing GB. Just one more page!!!
