Super Freak
My delivery arrived just as we were leaving for breakfast, but I'm back home now with TTT second half playing and Legolas out and set up. He rocks, and is another home run in the line. So glad I jumped on this line when Gandalf preordered.
I won't even dream of trying to take any photos of mine, because Trevor's images rock too hard, and mine would never compare. But I will say a few things about the newest addition to the line.
1. Mine is very tan looking in the face. Not so much that I would want to try for a replacement, but far more tan than I ever saw Legolas in the films.
2. After initially setting him up with the bow, I decided to display him in the exclusive configuration. This is quite an odd arrangement of exclusivity, as you must change both hands, switch out the bow, and add or take away the blade handles.
3. By displaying the exclusive rendition of this piece, you still get to see the full bow on his back, which is one reason I prefer it that way. The other reason is that the blade handles don't quite want to stay in their scabbards as they should, not that I tried too hard to place them correctly. I realized while trying that I would prefer the exclusive pose, so just went with it.
4. The sweeping nature of the line continues. Yes, we already knew that by seeing every piece (aside from Aragorn) have billowing capes or otherwise. But for me, LOTR is a sweeping saga and this line captures so much of that feeling. They do not appear too animated for my taste, as some have suggested.
5. Basically, I'm very happy to have jumped on this line, and am happy to not be regretting my decision to have this as my focus, with the limited budget I'm currently under. There is great promise in the line, with current preorders of Boromir, Gimli, Ring-wraith, and even Arwen. I truly hope SS keeps at it. I especially hope the next preorder is for a pair of Hobbits!
Thank you Sideshow
