I Agree, Stoker's Dracula is awesome, won't argue there.UMMMMMM....no. Haven't scene or read those books. Personally, the last Vampire film I liked was Bram Stroker's Dracula. Nobody can stop Gary Oldman, not even horrible acting by Keanu Reeves.
I can't explain exactly why I didn't care for it. My girlfriend was the one who noted that "it was a better made Twilight".
I think you need to call the Viagra Hotline, 'cause it's been long past 4 hours with your boner for me. And Please don't use the lecture smilie for yourself, it's just lame.Ill Jedi has a private boner for Twilight.
Yeah, Near Dark is bad ass, definitely up there with the best.cant wait to see this movie. But the greatest vampire movie is still and will always be Near Dark.
Yes it has English audio, I will go back and watch the swedish dub with the subtitles though.I have yet to see it. Does the dvd come with dubbed audio and subs, or just subs. I should be ok either way.
I think you'll like it, it'll make a great flick to watch for Halloween too! Will definitely check this movie out. I love good Vampire movies!
It was a blind buy for me and a very wise choice!I will probably just end up ordering it from Amazon instead of renting it. Most of my movie collection consists of Horror related movies so I think this one will fit right in. I can't tell you how many times I have watched The Shining, the original Halloween, and Lost Boys over and over again. Renting it would just end up being a waste of time and effort.
Yes!Is it out now to rent?? I'm going to have to pick this up!!! I love vampire movies
The Pool scene was BAD ASS, it was shocking and my jaw dropped, too cool....I really enjoyed this movie and found the swiming pool scene near the end to be truly shocking...
Yes!
Yeah, I think Reinhardt said he just got it from them yesterday.never heard of this. is it on netflix???
First of all, the swimming pool scene is an instant classic. I saw this movie back in October as it was making the rounds between some of my friends and it's a very good movie. While not really scary, it has great atmosphere. The special effects were great for the budget it had and some of the scenes (swimming pool) will stick in my head for a while.
I heard it's going to get the Hollywood treatment soon, so see this before they screw it up.
P.S. - I wonder how many people picked up on what Eli really is. (Besides being a vampire)
Yes, it's a solid movie, well worth watching.
But let's get this out there right now - the US version is NOT A REMAKE. I'm getting so tired of people not understanding the difference between a remade movie (like Friday the 13th) and another adaptation of a book (like Dracula). The book the film is based on (which I highly recommend reading - it's much better than even the film), is going to be adapted again, and there's a ton of stuff left out of the swedish version that I'm betting gets added in by the American version. There was a lot more around Hakan the familiar that has potential to be very disturbing, and even how Veronica was handled (and what was left out) was a bit disappointing. This is one of those times where I'm actually looking forward to how they might go about it the second time around.
Yea, the Swedish version was moody, but there were sections that were simply overdrawn and dull, and they didn't have to be.
