Yes. But hurry!!!

Yeah....I can wait but its just so hard when you are waiting for something really cool...I just dont really know waht to expect..

If I wanted to look at the catalog, I have the PDF version of it on my computer. The hardcover copy will be a nice "coffee table" style presentation book that I might even display along with my collection.

I wouldn't give five bucks for somebody else's high school yearbook, since it's full of signatures of people that I don't know and don't care about. Many people are having the same reaction to this special version of the catalog.

However, one thing that Sideshow does more than any other company out there is to put a human face and voice and name on their staff. Those of us who are huge fans recognize many of the Sideshow staff on a first name basis. I couldn't tell you the name of one person who works at Gentle Giant, Master replicas, or Code 3, but I could list a whole crowd of people from Sideshow who have participated in chats or posted on the boards or sent personal PMs or e-mails to the fans. From Mat and Tom to Andy to "Q" and Brant to Dusty and Chicky and Chris and Marc (and the list could go on), Sideshow is a company with personality and heart, with employees who really go out of their way to embrace and connect with their fans, chatting and giving away tons of prizes at every possible opportunity.

I know that having their signatures is meaningful only to some of the people who have interacted with them, but to those who feel like part of Sideshow's extended family through these interactions, this catalog will be a treasured item.

Excellent Tom! I could of used you as my backup over at SF the other night! :rotfl

Sorry! I was going to post my thoughts today but noticed that the thread had been locked. You did a good job in your posts, though! Good for you!

Thanks, but Andy was really the one that helped many of them see they had gone too far. They seem like some great collectors and to me it felt like it just got out of hand. All is said and done now so we can let that matter rest and get back to waiting for our's to ship!!! :monkey5

Alas, I got the locking done by posting a rash picture.
"How about a nice cup of STFU" was inappropriate, but
I had all I could take of the personal bashing about that
particular subject from one constantly-negative poster.

I was warned heartily, and now am once again a happy
law-abiding multi-forum citizen.

JS

JS--If it was just you, they could have simply edited or deleted your post. I think that there was more behind the lockdown than just your post.

True. Mine was edited, but it apparently was the proverbial
"Straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak.

Either way, glad the bash-fest on that topic is now done.

BTW...... My coffee nearly shot out of my nose when I opened up the thread to see the 'image' you posted JS. Definitely inappropriate, but I laughed my a** off!

If I can make one person laugh their @$$ off, then my day is complete! :D
Bonus points awarded if I can get coffee to shoot out of their nose!

JS :rotfl :lol

So I vascillated back and forth on the slipcase all week, as it is cool, but at the price I just couldn't afford it right now. I thought, hey, I'll put it on my credit card, but I had to cancel all my cards due to a misplaced card. Once everything settled, the book was sold out. I was wondering if people would ever want a Sideshow Archive coffee table book though. A comprehensive history and photo guide for their first ten years would be awesome. Sign me up for one, and if the staff ever wants to do a signing again, that would be sweet too!

I never understood the catalog much, as so much of the product listed is sold out before the catalog ever sees print!

You've got a good point there! SSC is certainly a victim of their success. Sorry about your CC troubles.

The catalog has evolved over the years, since they only do it twice a year it's tough to keep it current. Look at this one - it went to press months ago, so there's a lot of stuff not in it and a lot of sold out stuff.

I think that's why it's become more of a show book and I think that's a good trend.

I hope all these production blog photos are hi-res so they can later be used for a more comprehensive, behind the scenes book.

...and if they need someone to help write it...:monkey1
