Limited editions, re-release, open edition?

Fair enough. The biggest items in my collection do tend to be more eye-catching - perhaps because I have fewer of them though which itself makes them stand out. How about 1/4 scale poseable figures, such as is now becoming all the rage with EB and HT? Would you consider those?

Of course, I have the EB T-800 and I like it.

Yes I've seen those comments too. My point was that I'm getting out of HT because of their practices and that I get better bang for my buck with statues hence the example I gave with the 89 Joker. Way overpriced for an action figure. I still have over a dozen HT and EB in my collection.

Well, using your case in point, the Joker won't seem so overpriced when the '89 statue comes out looking more like Cesar Romero than Jack Nicholson.

Buy Alice and get a clue. I concede to Indy. But HT's bullseyes on likeness are considerably more consistent than Sideshows, especially as far as paint is concerned.

I would say judge it by what's sitting on your shelf and not a bunch of ____ty online photos.

Well none of us got to judge the Reeve prototype in person, the sculpt we got was different and I think universally considered better. I wasn't trying to make any point here, I was just curious where you stood on that sculpt now.

I stand where I've always stood on that sculpt (once it finally showed up). My opinion has been in that thread since the day the 1st thread, 2nd thread, and finally the 3rd thread (unless there's a new one for pics ), were created.

Did you mean poseur? Or poser? Because I do pose action figures, like the Alice figure that looks like Milla.

Collectors pulled these off the shelves and stomped on them back in the day. I helped. Can you guess why?

This figure destroyed the dream of owning a real one. I hate this figure for doing that.

These are just a couple of examples why i dislike re-releases. For some cosmic reason it takes the excitement out of the hobby. Even though i don't own any of the HT stuff being re-released, i hate that they are doing it because it cheapens the dream. We are always going to have new collectors that come into this hobby. As a company you have to realize this and keep on trucking along with new and exciting products otherwise you become stale. HT is going to make alot of money during this boom no doubt about it, however during this time they are going to piss alot of people off and eventually i fear their products will be about as 'valuable' as these......
