Is the Lim Toys head sculpt compatible with the Sideshow Nathan Drake (Uncharted 3)?

The SSC sculpt is awful, nothing like the prototype.

I just noticed the Lim set comes with 2 sculpts so I’m hoping to swap.

You can just replace the body of the sideshow figure.

Best thing to do so the skin tones match would be to pick up a spare LimToys body (and probably hands) whenever the figure gets released to then do a body swap with the Sideshow figure. You'd either have to modify the ankles on the body or the sockets in the Sideshow boots as Sideshow uses a very large, non-standard, ball joint on their figures. But, overall, it will end up being a better looking figure most likely

Well, we knew production was full steam ahead and they had added new accessories around the end of the summer last year. I think it was September was the last update? I'd have to go back and look.

I have no idea what the production run size is, or how long production takes, but I'm guessing they probably won't release in 1Q this year, but I'm hopeful for 2Q.

At this point, I just want to know if they're still planning on developing Sully, since we were told he could be considered based on how well Nate sold. I'd also like to know how the female body that's been in development for years is coming along. It would be nice to get an Elena to go with these, or even just hear how RnD on a certain machine huntress is coming along.

I believe i mentioned before they said Sully was a go and would be announced later on.

I don't have this on order currently. I know sales are a major indicator for LIM, but speaking for myself alone, and I don't know if there are others like me, but as much interest as I have in many of their products, I've held off on ordering anything until the item is in stock. I would buy this day 1 along with Sully. I'm also interested in Marston. But at this point, when you've got figures like the Detroit investigator that's maybe coming up on 6 years since it went up for preorder, and people are still waiting in the dark like sitting ducks with their money held up, it's really unencouraging. A fresh college graduate could be a father by the time this figure gets released for all we know. LIM does amazing work, and they have so much potential. But boy are they slow at rolling things out. It's just a shame really.

To me, something about Limtoys just doesn’t add up. How are they able to release products that are Hot Toys quality, sometimes even better for the prices they charge? They’re so cheap compared to other companies. The long wait times between releases must be hurting the company as well. In that period they have no revenue coming in right? I find it hard to believe their business model is sustainable longterm.

Yeah. I worry about them going under.

I feel they had to redo their entire approach to figures after The Gunslinger released as good as it is. To many QC issues with very fragile parts and accessories. And also to many accessories in one figure. I get we all love that but to be honest the more items a figure comes with the more complicated and cumbersome the package will be to house them. They definitely are having to learn more now with the investigator figure as that seems the most busy and loaded of figures. This Nate is also a taking a new direction in terms of quality and creativity. Going forward if they start to charge more I wouldn't blame them as the hobby is changing drastically. I can see two versions of a future figure being released like Dx comes with more accessories and standard comes with less and will cost less.

The same way other companies are able to do it, they don't have to pay licensing fees. Mars Toys figures are also getting up there to HT quality while remaining reasonably priced and typically have quite a decent amount of accessories.

Guys.

Hot Toys has to pay for licenses. Master Team and Limtoys and whoever else don’t. That’s a massive reason you’re saving money already. Those Disney licenses aren’t cheap and we end up paying for some of that - along with Hot Toys just charging more as a name brand.

Lim isn’t going under. That’s ridiculous. They’re slow. But they’re stable.

Everybody breathe.

I think I understand what Niek meant. I actually thought about it too. You all thought about the cheap price and stated it’s about the licensing. It is true, and I think niek and we all knew that. But that’s not the point I think. With the price is lower and Lim is so slow, how did they get revenues? Gipetto compared it to Mars Toys, but Mars are making a lot of figures left and right too. They released some figures in a year. Lim did not. Others like SooSoo Toys also pumping a lot. And they already said the new announced figures did not affect the already in production pieces. So they can keep the orders coming.
Basically, cheap price + slow production = low income

We know Lim is always making quality figures. But the thing is, we also don’t know will it always be like that? Because they did not release much. With the slow release, and no revenues from their figure, it is acceptable to raise this topic, no? I think that is the point of his concern. I don’t want to rush them, it’s not in my power and I don’t know anything behind the scenes of their productions. But I also understand the frustrations of people who ordered figures from them, wanting, waiting to have them, but still have to wait while feeling the company is nowhere to be found. Especially for people wanting the Detroit figure. Some people may already lost interest in that figure.

I’m just hoping they’re getting better in producing figures.
