Base is wonky as hell, lots of boiling water required but god damn the figure is porn!

Never played the game, but this is a DAMN GOOD looking figure!
I'm oddly tempted to get it, I am a sucker for good artifact looking accessories and a diorama base.

I haven't played them either and have only watched them as no-commentary gameplay movies, which worked pretty well. So I'm not invested in the character beyond Nathan Drake representing the spirit of adventure in a world with some atmospheric locations. I played a lot of the Tomb Raider games back in the day, so hope one day we'll finally see a good 1/6 classic Lara.

Video games provide the gateway for Lim to make really good figures that have a purpose even if you have no specific connection to them, as with Red Dead Redemption filling out a western collection. I tried a few times to watch them as no-commentary gameplays but lost patience. Likely better to play, but unengaging to watch. RDR is certainly no The Last of Us, but Lim's Arthur is a damn fine figure.

You know what's cool about this figure?

There's almost no one complaining about anything. Yeah, there's some issues with the base. Yeah, a couple of people are having some arm trouble. Yeah, there's that one guy who seems to never be happy about anything.

But think about every InArt release. For every two posts about people loving their figure, there's one with people who have issues with the hair, or a paint defect, or blue tac, or oversized heads, or wrist peg hell....you name it. Hot Toys thread always has people complaining about likeness or the body on a figure or whatever else. SW Toys threads...well they deserve every bit of hate they get.

This thread? Even if people have a problem with an arm or the base, it's still universal praise. People who have never played the games before as well as Uncharted enthusiasts are both in awe of how well this game out. Sculpts are great, paint is great, accessories are great.

It's all just happiness as people are getting their figures. How often does that really happen?

Bravo to Lim for achieving that.

Yeah brother, this figure is a masterpiece, I keep my figures close to me, on my desk and I kept looking at Nathan and the way they nailed the unique body proportions, long biceps, forearms, even the shoulder has that elongated shape that you see in game, the way even the holster falls on his traps, doesn't stay puffy, it's amazing, I cannot express how happy I am with the body.

A figure cannot be perfect or come without faults but man, this is as close to perfect as it can be ( hope I said that correctly )

Also, I know I'm kinda glazing but it's truly how I feel and I just wanna share these thoughts here.

I mean, look at this man, feels like holding a mini human in hand

The figure is sculpted so well that it has all the qualities of a statue, but with the benefits of articulation. Add the base, which is evocative of what I thought was the most atmospheric part of Uncharted 4 - Libertalia - and it's a stunning set.

When I think of the game I always have this gruesome scene in mind:

Oh yeah, this is gonna be one I return to over and over again with different poses, accessories, etc. Just an absolute delight to fiddle around with! The custom chest and arms are next level, the tailoring is fantastic, the joints are delightfully crunchy, swapping forearms and heads is a breeze... This is easily one of the best figures in my collection. Bring on the next!

That’s exactly how the sword is displayed on mine 🤌

Will do, though a fellow board member did it already just yesterday and posted some great pictures of the two figures together, as well. Be sure to check them out :)
Thanks. Yes I saw that which made me think of doing the same as the U3 look is my favourite. Didn’t see any mention of modding anything to fit the sculpt so just want to be super sure before getting the U3 version.

Understood. I should have the SS U3 figure tomorrow and the Lim set Friday. I presume it'll be effortless. If the Lim sculpt is a different skin tone than the SS body, at least the shemagh scarf will cover the neck area. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

It wasn’t tricky or any issues you just need an extra neck adapter and that’s it. It also worked without one. Hope that helps. No modifications needed.

Got my figure today and initial unboxing (trying to get it out of the Lim shipper box) wasn’t exactly pleasant. Not sure if anyone else had this issue but my shipper box has tape on all 4 edges b/c apparently the box fell apart? Anyway the protective plastic bag was stuck to the tape; so, that shipper box is trash now, which I don’t tend to like to do.

Anyway, onto the main attraction- the actual unboxing experience was fantastic. Definitely felt like opening a HT DX figure with all the well cut foam and new figure smell.

Nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said about how well done this figure is from top to bottom. The shirt color is also quite nice and not as bright as some pics make it out to be. The quality of the chosen fabric is also well sourced. Doesn’t feel cheap.

If I had one, minor complaint, it would be that I think the neck/chest is a little over textured and painted slightly different than the head(s) itself so there’s a bit more discrepancy when viewing from the side. But, I love the sweat droplets they incorporated.

I’ve been perfectly fine with my custom with Kai’s sculpt for all these years but it’s definitely getting retired now.

This is absolutely a home run figure without a doubt. Lim should be incredibly proud of this figure. I’d love to get a second figure as well as the old sideshow figure to do a body and head swap with the Lim parts. They’d certainly elevate that figure 100%.

Definitely can’t wait for Joel and Ellie
