I will add, paying 4PX the import tariff ahead of time and letting them process and cover it during shipping seems like the best case scenario. Should hopefully expedite getting the items through customs so they aren't buried under the 4 million Temu packages a day.

20% VAT? Lucky! 23% for me not counting additional import and distribution fees from the post office! 10% isn't so bad in comparison lol

Don't know if it will apply to the entire EU but I've heard a while ago that they are already planning the next step for Germany at least... yay... :monkey2 'cause that's where I live.

Used to be that for packages below a value of €22 you didn't have to pay anything. Above that you had to pay VAT (which is 19 % here) and for goods with a value above €150 you also had to pay custom duties. So most overseas sellers just declared a low value on their package and it slipped through the cracks. And for years practically NO ONE cared. Even though many politicians, customs officials and postal workers very well knew that most sellers cheated with the declared values...
Occationally I still had to go to a customs office to collect a package of mine and bring an invoice but it rarely ever happened.

Then - I think it was 2020 - EU changed that and suddenly you had to pay VAT even on things below €22 value. But they needed some more time to adjust and they pushed the implementation back to July 2021. That's when the IOSS system was introduced. Now they mostly take the declared value at face value and just tax you accordingly because everything else would just be too much work for everyone. And DHL charges €6 on top as a service fee :giggle: (Thank you for the great service DHL!) :yuck

Next step I heard is they will ditch the customs duties threshold entirely and a per package fee will be introduced for everything coming from China.
So for me it'll be 19 % + customs duties (however high those will be - I don't even wanna know yet) + a set fee for every package from China in the future... isn't that nice... :D I really can't wait!!! 😵‍💫

@Gipetto0812 :duff
But that 10% is on the horizon for your TF stuff.

@vaanrose
Right now is what matters. Nothing is paid for anything below $800. How soon can USPS and customs get a system in place to charge the additional 10%? Who knows but hopefully it will be at least a month or more.

@R_R_X
You think interest from US buyers will go away if you had to add 14.7% for Sully and/or Elena?

I think Lim is one of the few companies where because of the quality of the product I'd be okay with eating the extra cost, but I'd definitely scale back on other things.

Well all these years I was paying shipping twice as I am using forwarder. Then I pay forwarder 14$ per KG and then 20% import fee + 10$ forwarder fee for the customs documents. Hello? I'm the winner. :rock2 So this additional American fees basically doubles my ''order total''. Changed address to China to avoid American prices for Chinese merch. However have bunch of POs on BBTS :horse

On the topic of Uncharted, due to these recent developments, side characters like Sully and so on probably have a lower chance of getting made now. I just don't see many people paying for him with the price hike and with the uncertain future of everything. People may not realize it but these video game figures really don't sell that much, they're considered profitable for us because we usually make enough back to invest in other projects and we don't have to pay any additional license fees, but it is nothing compared to what Hot Toys and even third parties, make with superheroes. So with these new roadblocks to consider, we'd rather focus on and develop other iconic game characters we'd also like to add to my own collection, as we do these figures for ourselves as much as we make them for everyone else.

I'll pay 100% tariff for Joel and Ellie if I have to.

I bought a second one, thanks Limtoys for you amazing figures. I did so this morning though, I think Kit will get more? I know he said he'll get more this month but it can't be gone already, right? :')

I want him pretty bad but not that bad lol
Lol I paid $350 CAD, and that was back during it's original price.
You guys should try this hobby from Canada. It's pretty much always sucked, constantly being limited to what you can and can't afford because of ridiculous, over the top inflation rates.
Can't wait for **** to hit the fan even worse (for all of us) over the next couple of months! Tariffs FTW!🥳

The original $238 price this guy was going for not including shipping or whatever was a downright steal. Even that $288 price and the tariff increase I saw on kits site still ain't that bad but $399!! I don't think so. Hopefully kit will get more. I'm pissed at myself for not checking earlier

With tariff it is 316$ as I remember on OSK
Onemanshobby has overall crazy prices on everything

Please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you say you used the forwarder only because you could get your figures faster that way?

Yea, I’m from Republic of Georgia and direct shipping takes ages and usually packages arrive messed up, because our local post sucks. That’s why I use forwarder for last 15 years probably. Through these years I developed good relationship with them and they know I’m a psycho collector, so they take extra care of my packages. However this service cost me at least 50$ extra on every 1/6 figure, so this additional US fees increased total price significantly. I switched address to China on OSK, thankfully they offer the same service from China as well. Haven’t used till now, as they added China few months ago and never bothered to switch my PO addresses. Probably figures will arrive faster now.
