That’s actually pretty surprising, though I’d love for their other company that primarily does movie figures Filix (because Limtoys and Filix are the same I believe ) to take on some Star Wars characters. I’d love to see third party win again when it comes to soft goods and completely embarrass Hasbro. I know if they did do Jedi/Sith they would be amazing quality, just like the Filix Joker.

Hot Toys has the Star Wars franchise license.

They also have the Marvel license and look at many third party companies still make Marvel stuff.

The different is that Marvel/DC are immensely popular in Asia and Star Wars is not.

It's never been. Star Wars is crazy popular in Japan because of it's roots in samurai lore but it just never resonated with the audiences in the rest of Asia. Disney marketed the hell out of the new movies in China, even changing the poster on The Force Awakens to remove Finn to appease the markets there, which was obviously not a popular move in the west, but every movie they've put out has bombed in China and most other places in Asia.

My uncle lives in Singapore, has since 1993 for work, and frequently travels to Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan. He said Indonesia is the only place there's moderate interest in the franchise. The audiences over there just don't understand it and don't care to try and understand it.

Disney tried to double down and put Asian actors like Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang and Kelly Tran in their films, it still didn't work. Donnie Yen is massively popular over there and people met his casting in the film with a "wtf is he doing" mentality.

It's not just Star Wars - Johnny Depp is hugely popular in China, thus why Hot Toys has gotten the licenses for many of his films, yet Pirates of the Caribbean bombed in China, except for I believe the last one, which is universally seen as a terrible movie.

As I had said, you'll see third parties make Marvel and DC because superheroes are very popular in Asia. Star Wars isn't. So you likely won't any companies doing Star Wars stuff. R_R_X has said himself it's very difficult to release figures if it's not popular with the Chinese market where those collectors will buy it. It's something I don't agree with because those collectors are really difficult to deal with, but it's the nature of the beast.

Anyway, let's try and not derail the thread much more. We already had one LIM thread get hijacked this week haha. Hopefully this gives you some context - just gotta hope that maybe Hot Toys will pick up the Jedi license and get us a Cal Kestis.

Haven’t rooted hair in a while so it’s a little rough, but I’m mostly happy with the results. He’s *ahem* “borrowing” a hat from Woody for now…

@R_R_X I can't wait to find out more on this figure. In the meantime, would you be able to post a picture of the boots that John comes with? I'm lining up a second body, shirt, pants, and boots to make a second figure. I did the same with Arthur. I'm concerned the pants I get won't properly cover the ankle. I'm hoping to buy a second pair of John's boots if they will work with the type of pants I get. Otherwise, I'm open to suggestions from the community on what would be a good alternative.

You know sometimes I wonder if limtoys is worth the wait. Then I pull out Arthur and admire all the details from the weathering to the individual hairs on the hand. Not inart level but better than HT. Yeah. They are worth the wait.

That’s an amazing sculpt though. I’m just waiting for Arthur, John, and Dutch to come to 1/12 from Lim. God willing they also make Micah, Javier, Bill, Sadie, the rest of the gang, and their horses too. I’d buy a deluxe pack with both John, Arthur’s, and Dutch’s horses. But we’ll see what happens. They can even partner with the Company Zhaoye, which has a horse that has seamless articulation in 1/12 scale. I believe it has a metal or steel skeleton underneath which allows the horse to have an amazing range of articulation. Lim, if you’re hearing this please partner with them and make the rest of the gang, and some other characters like Grown up Jack Marston, Landon Ricketts and Red Harlow. I would pay for all of these figs and give you guys free advertising to help with sales. You guys are an amazing company and it would be a shame if y’all stopped doing RDR figures. Please

(This is what the Zhaoye Horse includes btw)
The Zhaoye Horse:
-1/12th white seamless movable horse(The horse has steel bones in it.)
-Two interchangeable horse heads with different expression
-Over 20 movable joints
-Armor for a horse, saddler, trappings (with saddle, halter,etc.)
A Flag(including the base)

I also included a picture of it at the bottom after the Red Dead characters and horses!

If they had removed the RDR1 sculpt we would've known by now. I think they're just making some small changes to it due to criticism they got.

The boots i got from the vts Arthur but i would recommend the limtoys version.
The pants i got from thecavecollector on etsy. He made me a whole set up tho . Pants poncho duster vest, gun belt, bandolier and the gun back mount from rdr1
