Well, most "good" games get in the mid to upper 9's so a 7.0 isn't a very good score from them, but I have not seen the full review yet.

Even though it's for the PS3, I had to laugh at this summary:

"Conquest is like sex: good with other people, mildly entertaining solo, shortness is a problem."

Reviews are overrated for game and movies a like. Fallout 3 got great reviews and I think its a mediocre game at best and for me the same could be said with Oblivion. Brother's in Arms only got a 7.6 but I would say it was one of the best shooter games for WW2 I've ever played. I think "good" is quite subjective to those playing and their expectations going in.

Reading the review from the douche at IGN is funny. I mean it sounds as if the game is exactly what I expected a button mashing affair set in LOTR. I don't get what the fuss is about honestly as I played the Demo agains yesterday in MP and had a good time. It plays pretty well, looks good, and I had fun. That to me is a good game.

I agree that a review is more acceptable if they have someone who likes that style of game or movie. I still take it with a grain of salt but it makes it more acceptable if they like that genre.

I have no beef with you liking the game, but I am surptised you think the graphics are good. That was one of the bigger let downs IMO. It reminded more of PS2 then "next gen".

They're not great by any stretch. I thought the environments where quite good though with the players being alright.

So IGN gave this the exact same score as Battlefront II, and I loved that game and replayed it quite a lot. So if they're telling me this is as good as that one, then I think I'll be happy with it.

Yeah I had to ask for it though because the regular guy I deal with had the day off and it was an employee who I had never dealt with before and he just handed me the game and told me to have a nice day.
