Lord of the Rings in Blu-Ray

I just bought the trilogy on blu-ray (extended edition). Can't wait to see how it looks on my new 40-inch Sony Bravia LCD (Wish I could have gone with LED).

Hopefully I have some time to watch it this weekend.

Not at all. I don't think not liking greedy company policies and some deceptive 'advertising' is being bitter. At the end of the day, it makes no difference to what I am going to do.
But you do realise you likely just accused LOTRnerd of having intelligence below a reasonable level.

Not liking it is one thing, but these titles were announced months ago, and they were released weeks ago. Continuing to bemoan the fact that they aren't the versions you think they should have been at this point in time is unhealthy.

Hard to tell. For the most part, I'm trying to understand if WB has the contract with SS, as opposed to Weta.

I don't think so. It was going to be tied in with the release of the Hobbit in theaters, but I'm not sure how long they will hold off. Since they just released the other ones, maybe they'll still wait for the Hobbit. So.......that will be a couple of years yet.

I got those Blus the day Amazon put them up, they arrived today can't wait to see how they look on blu. I was waiting for a price drop.

Yeah, I hear you, but I'm the idiot who bought the theatrical DVD versions, the Extended Editions, AND the combo theatrical / EE versions. Might as well do it on Blu-Ray as well.
