Who shot JR? Who killed Laura Palmer? Who is Jacob?

I'm fairly sure one of the great mysteries of episodic television will be revealed this season, the identity of Jacob, most likely in the finale. 'The Cobra', the mysterious leader hinted at throughout Nikki's tv series was revealed in its fifth season, which, I'm sure, was a hint for the Lost viewers that the leader of the Others will be revealed this year.

So any guesses about who he will turn out to be?

Cool idea I hadn't heard before, the consciousness of the island. :rock

Correct me if im wrong, but didnt Claire sit in that Cabin with her/Jacks father?

he showed up in front of Michael in the Season 4 finale before the bomb went off so i think he is important for the Island somehow...

Yes, Claire and Christian were in the cabin together and Christian said that he isn't Jacob but does speak on his behalf.

And I don't discount the possibility that Jacob could be played by someone new, it just seems like an anti-climactic move to do so.

Jacob is totally Vincent.

sounds good to me. :)

im starting to think its locke :dunno

maybe some strange connection to why locke cant see him. :dunno

more and more im thinking its locke...........he seems to be more "in tune" with the island and more than willing to believe anything and everything is possible there and tries to convince everyone else of this. yet he is still in the dark and surprized at what goes on around him.....(make sense????). so i think because of his passion to seek the knowledge of the island and all the mysteries surrounding it he will eventually become jacob. kind of a keeper of the faith type being.

though there have been several times in this show that i thought i had things figured out..........i was so dead wrong............im not placing any bets on a damn thing when it comes to this show... :lol

I think it is Locke. Or at least it was Locke that played Jacob in that scene. Locke will probably travel back in time and his spirit will become Jacob. Or something like that.

I'm going to go against my initial guess of Locke and say....

Ben.

That bastard has been behind every twist and turn happening on that island (and off) since the get-go. Jacob would have to be a fellow bastard to work with Ben for so long. It would be fitting that Jacob is Ben from the future.

(Then again, it could be Locke doing whatever it takes to get the island back on track...) ;)

The weird thing is that Alpert was aware of Jacob way back in the 1950's. Not sure about his identity now, although my previous guess would have been Locke. But apparently Jacob has the leader for quite some time.

With time travel being a reality my guess is that Locke goes back in time as Jacob or something.
