If you haven't checked out the show Flight of the Conchords (about two struggling musicians from New Zealand trying to make it in the Big Apple) try and catch the most recent (Sunday's) episode-- they do a LOTR rap that's pretty funny. It's not on youtube yet but as soon as it's posted I'll link it up here.

Yep-- it must have been just put on or I didn't do the proper search for it. Funny stuff--- and an original show if you haven't seen it yet. Check it out if you get the chance.. but avoid racist dragons.:D

I actually looked for this yesterday to post it but it hadn't made it to Youtube yet... but there were a bunch of fanmade versions. I guess the song predates the show.

Either way its awesome :rock

I'm beating Shai to the punch-- this thread (and Flight of the Conchords) is rated AWESOME!!!:D

Most of their songs are from their stage act and they just try and fit the episodes around them. Which is fine - the songs are the best parts of the episodes I think.

Its a good idea, take what is funny and work a show around it. So far its been damn funny every episode. This and the Bowie's in space have been my favorites so far.

I do believe one of the chaps in the band was also a hobbit in LOTR. The show is great btw!!!!! :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Bret McKenzie was in two of the LOTR films. In FOTR he was seen in the council of Elrond scene (as an elf) for mere seconds. A couple of girls named this elf Figwit (Frodo is great, who is that? is it's meaning) and the buzz started because of these few girls and the fanbase for Figwit grew from there. He became so popular that 'Figwit' had a bigger part in ROTK (he's the elf that speaks to Arwen as she is heading to the grey havens).

I thought it was funny the first time I watched it, then when I showed it to my brother I thought it was really kind of dumb. Not nearly as good as the David Bowie song.

Hello..... I'm David Bowie.

:rotfl (very funny)

Am I freaking you out, Brett? Is this a freaky dream?

LOL! Best new show on right now...it's like if They Might Be Giants had a show back in the late 80's where they moved from NYC to Auckland or something.

:D

I went and looked this up---funny funny funny... I almost missed him in FOTR as he's on the far right of the screen during the argument at the council and he's shown just as Frodo says he'll take the ring to Mordor. The ROTK scene is hilarious now that you know who he is... I watched it and kept waiting for him to suddenly look at the camera and bust into a rap with Jemaine popping up behind him.:rotfl
