My first thought when I saw the tease was 2nd from left is Gimli 1:6. God, that would be great.

Unfortunately, for those that collect[ed] that line.....it's dead and buried. I am hoping for a small dio. or perhaps a hobbit LSB, though I realize it could also be some useless LOTR trinket.......

Sideshow has "officially" said that the line is on hold. Which means, yeah. Its dead. Unless something changes when The Hobbit comes out.

Like pixeltwin says, SS never uses the word "dead" to describe a licence...they prefer the term "on hold"....though they mean exactly the same thing.

i'm pretty sure like everyone else it won't be 1/6 since ss said ti's on hold but i'm still hoping somehow they changed. i know everybody seems to be saying that the one figure is cobra commander and it looks like he has a cape but could the shadow pass for a saruman or a gandalf the white? yeah i know 99.9% chance it's not but they still do have the liscense and at some point they probably had someone after the hobbits being looked at for production right?

I don't quite see Gimli in the shadow picture that Sideshow has teased us with, and I don't think that they would make an announcement that the 1:6 line is on hold if they still had a 1:6 Gimli in the works.

Somebody floated a rumor that Dooku and Saruman were coming soon in PF form, and Dooku is now announced, so maybe Saruman will be debuted at SDCC, with pre-orders available then.

The shadow that people point to as Gimli looks more like a Hulk silhouette to me though!

They wouldn't have said "line on hold" if they had another figure in development and there was not nearly enough time since that announcement to design a new fig. What's the fantasy, that they had Gimli almost ready to go, decided to end the line, but because of fan reaction and that he was already so far long, they decided to release him anyway? No matter how SS spells it out, there will still be the "maybe they didn't mean it" or the "surely they'll make one last figure" group. It's like a pathetic, deluded person after they've been dumped... "maybe they'll realize what a mistake they made and come back to me". Will it take an arrest and restraining order before it begins to sink in that it's over?
