True, but I think the very best we can hope for is that maybe with The Hobbit we will see more Middle Earth in 1:6. I can't imagine SS saying there were NO FIGURES IN DEVELOPMENT just a few months ago and now, all of a sudden, there is. Its just not realistic and its not likely.

They wouldn't have said "line on hold" if they had another figure in development and there was not nearly enough time since that announcement to design a new fig. What's the fantasy, that they had Gimli almost ready to go, decided to end the line, but because of fan reaction and that he was already so far long, they decided to release him anyway? No matter how SS spells it out, there will still be the "maybe they didn't mean it" or the "surely they'll make one last figure" group. It's like a pathetic, deluded person after they've been dumped... "maybe they'll realize what a mistake they made and come back to me". Will it take an arrest and restraining order before it begins to sink in that it's over?

lol hey the thing that got me started was when people were saying that the pfs and dios would be too big for sdcc excl.
i said i'm 99.9% sure it's not but i won't give up total hope until they loose the liscense but i also won't hold my breath either
i would assume that somewhere along the lines they stopped development on the next 12"er unless they were already in a wait and see mode before frodo and sam. otherwise it would have been a really long wait for another figure. so either they knew a long time in advance that the line was going to end or they must have had something in the pipeline when they pulled the plug. how far it was designed who knows maybe just a list and sketch maybe some prelim stuff but i would think something
My personal feeling is that they put Gandalf into production when they realized the line was dying and they really wanted to end the line on a real solid up note for the loyal customer base.

How big was the Frodo PF box? I would think it would be that size if it's Gimli. I'm hoping it something else other than a 1/6 or PF since I can't go to SDCC.

21.00" H (533.4mm) x 11.00" W (279.4mm) x 10.00" L (254mm
That sounds about right to me...a friend had one and the box was small (in comparison to other PF's!)
A Gimli PF would certainly get my vote!

Or, as Dusty pointed out in another thread, there had been a precedent for a con exclusive which has been sent out instead of pick up: the SW Luke PF...so you never know
Hobbit LSB box would prolly be about half the size of the frodo PF box IMO
