Columbus, Ohio is the closest to me, and that's just too far of a drive. They closed the ones in Toledo some time back. Oh well. So far I can't find any other theaters that are carrying them.

btw...for those that have AMCs, Top Gun is being shown the 30th of this month.

Almost a 2 hour drive one way. As much as I'd like to go, I wouldn't do that drive 3 days in a row. Not with the gas prices these days. I'll just have to hope one of the other theaters does it. If not,

Awesome, there's an AMC showing these about 20 minutes from me. I caught the EE's on the big screen the month before ROTK originally debuted in theaters. Is this the first time the ROTK EE will be shown theatrically?

Nationwide I believe so. They did the trilogy tuesday thing in 2003 where they showed the FOTR and TTT EE but that was the TE of ROTK.

Nothing official yet, but my brother (who is one of the managers of a fairly large AMC theater on the East Coast) sent me the following e-mail:

"Just thought you should know that all 3 Lord of the Rings popped up in our internal booking system today for June. They haven't announced anything official to us yet, but it looks like they might be doing a re-release in theatres."

Makes sense, being the tenth anniversary of FOTR and all.

If this is true then I might go insane because that would be great.

Just got an answer from Cinemark and they are going to show these too! Not all of them will have it though, so check near you.

I'm hoping Carmike gets it! They always carry the Harry Potter ones! Come on!!!!!! I emailed them but haven't heard back! I can see them in Sandusky, OH, but that's 50 miles away where as if I can see them at Carmike, that's only around 20!!! I didn't get to see RotK on big screen.
