Original concept of Indy story called for a mid to late 20s Indy having an affair with an 11 year old Marion...:horror yeah.. that's called Rape of a child in our state... and is classed as a Class A Felony... as in a top of the range crime... .. Lucas is one odd bird to say the least....

not sure what to think of that one... other than, please no prequels Lucas.. you already killed Star Wars... :slap

More evidence that Lucas is lucky he surrounded himself with brilliant people, back in the day.

Indy did have sex with Marion when she was a minor in the current way Raiders is, thats basically whats left of that idea you see there.

Thats why he's so apprehensive to see her, and why she says "I was a child, it was wrong and you knew it." to which Indy replies "You knew what you were doing."

Not only that but they tryed again.

When they were writing drafts for what would evenutally become The Last Crusade, one was something along the lines of The Monkey King, in which a young student threatens to blow her brains out with Indy's famous pistol if Indy won't make love to her back at the University. She then stows away and follows him to Egypt or something and several pedophile jokes are slung at Indy by other characters.

Horrible writing ideas for such a character.

Aparently Gary Glitter was originally interested in the role :)

Imagine Lucas at the healm all by his lonesome.

We would now be celebrating the release of a Hot Toys

"Indiana Smith" starring Tom Selleck the greedy, money-seeking pedophile. :slap

Plant...seed. :lol Ew, Sam. But really I thought this was common knowledge? I remember there was a link on Aintitcoolnews with the whole transcript, very weird sheet to say the least. Where is Carl to chime in?

I hadn't seen that before! I read the Making of the Indiana Jones movies book and I don't remember reading anything specifically about Marion's age. 11 is messed up. Seriously. Even 15. And for him to say once she's 16 or 17 it's not interesting anymore?!?! Geez George! I wonder how Lawrence Kasdan and Spielberg responded to all that? They must have just been in a little shock and not knew what to say!

Seriously, he must have gotten abused or had some kind of sexual experience at that age to make him think that was okay to even say out loud!

Anyone have a link to the full transcript?

Going by that line I always figured she was 16ish but never would have thought she was 11. YUCK.

And then in ToD which is a prequel to Raiders he's running around with Shortround.

Maybe Colonel Blumberg should have been less concerned about ancient myths and rumors and more concerned about the 2 rich white people lost in the Jungle with an asian child. :lol

Ugh. I guess I always assumed she was 16 or so. Underage, but not too young to actually give genuine consent in ethical terms, even if still technically illegal depending on local laws.

So I guess he did have a worse idea that Greedo shooting first.

Spielberg's suggestion was to have Indy be a kung fu master.
(evidence in the recorded transcript of the original story summit of Raiders)

Can you imagine how bizarre that would be?

Indy/Ford's fighting is such a part of the character. The John Wayne style cowboy/western haymakers connect him to those American Wild West screen heroes just as much as the hat and whip.
