To me that video confirms a lot of what is being said here. Their choice to engineer the helmet that way is a very bad one imo. At its price point and with it's lack of any other accessories, just give us a helmeted head and head with hair. Also the hair looks bad and the paint work on the sculpt looks toylike and lifeless. If those issues were resolved I would buy it without complaint. I feel that paying full price for this is sending sideshow the wrong message. As it is I am waiting for a deep discount or hot toys snowspeeder luke. No offense to some of you who have done nice work showing off the figure in this thread, you have made it look good overall with the helmet on.

Those eyes & eyebrows.. :lol

There's a reason why he comes packed with the helmet on.

There's probably a small print warning against removing the helmet.*

* Remove helmet at own risk. We accept no liability for figures that no longer resemble Luke Skywalker due to the removal of the helmet. Note also that returns cannot be accepted for figures whose costumes have been removed.

It doesn't look that bad! LOL!! Snicker... I would buy it as a bash kit if I could get it cheaper but as everyone has said before, not worth the price tag for me.

I've never changed my position on the head sculpt, but I do think from what I've seen that it looks good with the helmet on.

Over-priced, of course. Not due to lack of accessories, IMO...but because it fails to meet current state-of-the-art.

Well said. What a PITA to get a helmet on. Waiting for discount. Not worth retail price Sideshow is asking.

Luke does look very good in this pic from cheeseboy55's video.

A scheduled Monday delivery for mine.

Just something about this figure is putting me off. Body portions seem off and if someone told me this was from toys r us, I would have believed them. Whereas the HT releases are blowing it out of the park. Damn so torn right now. Going to have to see it in person before I decide.

Frankly this would have been a tough sell for me even with a better headsculpt and paintjob, given the lack of posing possibilities and the fact Luke didn't really do much in that outfit except sit in an X-Wing cockpit. So the fact the paintjob is lacking just makes it an even easier pass.

Makes you wonder how much extra a full helmeted head would have cost them vs. the R&D on this.

Given the pricing for the Hoth figures and the Jango Fett, it probably would not have increased the SRP for Sideshow. They most likely would have had much less tooling obviously without the intricate helmet. So their cost would have been lower.

This set with two heads for the price would have been much easier to absorb for me.

Luke Hoth Exclusive came with THREE Heads, a blaster, lightsaber (lit and unlit), binoculars and a snow base for $40 less. Makes no sense at all!

Agreed. It just seems this figure was just out of wack from the pricing and offering from the beginning. Most were more forgiving of the pricing because of the stellar headsculpt in proto rationalizing that if sideshow was going to deliver on sculpt AND paint then it would be plausible to be around HT pricing. However we all know that did not get delivered to production. So that got us to where we are today, questioning the offering value.
