he looks great with the helmet on. but im kinda bummed that both this one and hot toys missed the "mark" on hamill. i asked kit chen if any of the sculptors are considering doing any lukes and apprently it sounds like one or a couple are in the works. maybe we should get iminime to take a go. we need awesome sculpts of these awesome characters!

:goodpost:

Could the Star Wars license be that much to drive the cost up? Looking at other sideshow figures for sale now on their website and they are all pushing $200 or more regardless of the license. Green Lantern is $220. I am not sure this is just a "Star Wars" thing, and I can't imagine that Game of Thrones doesn't have competitive licensing costs.

Yes Star wars is by far the most expensive license outside maybe a Disney character license. People also forget that Disney/LFL and Hasbro both are getting paid on SW license. DC and Marvel aren't far behind. While GOT is popular now it will not have the longevity of those other properties. Hot Toys paid a very pretty penny. We were spoiled with the first SW license since Hasbro didn't ask much.

Wow, you SW fans do nothing but Kvetch, yet do nothing to help the situation. "That looks like a horrible product, I guess I'll still buy it." DON'T!!!

With that horrid doll sculpt I'm pressed to say that even $140. is too much! I'm Staying away from everything SS unless it's a droid or an alien. The post Mat Falls days from SideShow have not been fun. "Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" I'll let you guys get back to following SS.

All pilots to your stations!

Man, that looks so good with the belt and lightsaber...

Although Luke still looks very bored by the whole situation :lol

This might be the strangest thing I read all day...

She works with sculptors? And not just re-casters?

Sounds promising.

Don't Iminime usually only sell a few at exorbitant prices? To supply the needs of the many we'd have to wait for the inevitable re-casters to get hold of the Iminime sculpt.

Will you be posting any of your production figure pics soon? Your set-ups always bring these figures "to life" so amazingly well. I noticed SSC still seems to have the proto pics on the site - I'm assuming where yours will appear first?

The Hot Toys sculpt is good (looks great depending on the angle), but I agree that it's a little bit off.

Saw this figure today at my local retailer.

I was more impressed seeing it in person vs The photos shown online. That being said the figure still falls drastically short of the quality one would expect paying $250.

The sculpt with the helmet on is about 85% Hamill and off its 60% Hamill.

The face is very cartoony without the helmet. The paint app is lifeless and hard. It lacks the subtleties for a realistic portrait.

The outfit is nice, albeit a bit too orange bright. The helmet is nice, but again flat with only slight weathering.

Just my opinion based on handling the figure for about an hour.

Decision time. Looks like I may have the opportunity to snag this from a dissatisfied collector for below retail.

I honestly don't expect deep discounts on this in the future; and would display with helmet on anyway or head swap.

Outside of Star Wars I need a pilot Luke to join my iconic heroes group (Spider-Man, Bruce Lee, etc.) so I wonder if I should just hit it and mod it.

yes, it is good. i was going to use the stormtrooper sideshow lukes hairpiece. i think the elongated alien nation head is really the biggest offender. but again, im sure ill get him and be fine lol
