240....pass. Hope ssc reads this thread.....

I don't think they care. They calculate these things and know better where the market is then we do. There's some reason they slapped $240 on this piece. Really doesn't make sense.

But I don't care. Don't need it. Hope it sends a signal, whatever that means. Be happy if they got stuck with a ton of them and then lowered the price in a year and a half... but its unlikely since they preorder now to gauge their edition size, so they'll likely make fewer of these then usual.

I was interested in this, but at this price it's a no from me. I already have Bespin Luke, and with a HT Jedi Luke and/or Tatooine Luke around the corner, I'll save my cash for a more iconic version.

Yeah they might make a smaller run based on PO's unless they have that number set in stone already.

Surely they're selling less of these nowadays? If they push it with items like this - which whilst it has a better headsculpt the rest is not an great leap from ssc of old- with nilch accessories. Edition numbers will continue to fall

I wonder if they are scared that their time with the licence is ending and just want to grab whilst they can? Of if they have done the math and can sell it discounted from rrp and still make more?

All I know for sure is it ain't worth that much and I wont be paying that price.

Shame really wanted one

I'm not even bitter about cancelling this and sending SSC a message. If they can turn a profit at this price point then more power to them. I'm always looking for ways to simplify my life and less figures/payments is an easy way to do it. I'm still excited excited as hell about the upcoming Fett PF and am strongly considering just having that be my only SW collectible.

Fett. ESB. Done.

Nor did I. I figured HT would charge $229.99 actually for a single. So they still came in under what I expected. For a very reusable figure. But again this is the lead-in. I expect prices to steadily increase.

I'm serious about Vader being $399.99

I'm thinking Luke/Leia set -- if there is one -- will push the $500 mark like Chewie/Han.

I'm not so sure about that... HT has always pushed prices, but they've never really leaped. And even when one figure is priced higher, we then get another that is lower. They could have easily asked more for Chewie and many (including myself) would have gladly paid it.

I don't think Vader will be $400, but I'd think $300 is quite likely. I don't think Luke and Leia will be $500, but probably about the same as Han and Chewie... if not even a bit less since Leia won't have a lot of accessories to justify a higher cost. But it also depends on how far down the road they happen.

And Grievous did cost over $100.

No, Jabba doesn't stink anymore. He did. And he was slimy/greasy for awhile in places. He's a great sculpt, with silly little moveable arms and a terrible paint job. $129.99 in 2007. He was way ahead of his time.

I never felt bad on Jabba... I guess I just accepted he was a one-off sculpt, came in a big box and therefore cost more :huh The throne was a bit of a tough pill to swallow, but I went in on the whole kit and kaboodle and never really questioned it.

The backlash on FB is real. No amount of spookfest related talk is stopping people from complaining. Well, except a couple of regular ass kissers.

But Han/Chewie were $480... so close to $500 already.

The Jabba throne was even worse, but I didn't get it so I never count that. But for a hollow piece of plastic -- like anything you'd find at TRU for $20-$30, despite the superior sculpt, $129.99 was way over the top. At best that's an $80 plastic toy.

But I paid and am happy with it. I really like Jabba. But I have no misconception that I was ripped off big time.

SS read thru this thread. The guy who said yesterday, "IT'S LUKE!!! LOOK AT WHAT HT DOES!!! WE CAN TOTALLY GET $240 FOR THIS"... is now getting pummeled to a pulp...

Many Iron Man figures are over $300, aren't they? I see Vader as in that league. Maybe they'll do a die cast Vader to push the price.

Point is, they want to figure out ways to push the price, not lower it.
Other than Igor the most expensive Iron Man figures have been the Mark XLII and the Iron Patriot which both came in around $310. A lot of the armors are close to the $275-$300 mark. I don't think Vader will go above $300 but who knows.

Yeah, I'm not saying they won't be close... but if they are debuted within the next 6 months I don't expect them to be more. Han and Chewie represent Han as a "regularly" priced HT figure and Chewie being a bit higher. I'd think both Luke and Leia would be more like Han's price, so the total would be more like $450.

Again, just my guess... but you could be right. I know the original Jedi Luke from Sideshow was underpriced to whet whistels... but even still it took awhile before we crept past $70 on a regular basis for 1/6 figures.

But recently with Sideshow we've gone from a pretty hefty feeling $150 for Padawan Kenobi (but 2 heads, more outfit pieces and a light feature) to $240 for Luke. That's a lot of price hiking in a short period of time.
