I've been playing with a scenario for a few days. It goes something like this...

1) Disney sees what Hot Toys is getting for Marvel figures. They know HT wants Star Wars.

2) Disney sees what Sideshow is getting for Star Wars figures. Compared to what Hot Toys gets for Marvel, the numbers are disappointing.

3) Disney considers making Hot Toys the sole producer of Star Wars 1:6. Sideshow tries to save themselves by promising they can be as big an earner as Hot Toys.

4) Sideshow starts charging Hot Toys prices for Marvel and Star Wars figures.

Just speculating. (Anyone who wants to get excited over Kool-aid drinkers making excuses can calm down. This is not free Sideshow indignation porn. You do not have my permission to use this post for manual gratification.)

This was a logical scenario for me.
We will see in the future what Sideshow and HT will do.
I hope the price go down in the future.
Also a point is the licence from HT over the 1/4 Star Wars collectibles.
The price go up by the PF statues also.

This figure would have to be discounted heavily for me to consider it. And that is only if the headsculpt comes out like the proto.

On a slightly related tangent: When I was a kid I never realized the Kenner X-Wing Luke was Luke at all! The figure looked kinda chubby and I thought the black on his forehead was the guy's hair and not the goggles! I thought it was just some random, chubby, black-haired X-Wing pilot.

Edit: I'd also like to know what's happening in the Batman Armory thread without having to wade through hundreds of pages!

from what I gather people were charged in full and began processing and SS hasnt updated in roughly a week? no shipping etc... its been a noticeable trend with SS lately to charge early and then ship in a week or two, the winter soldier thread and Robocop are in a similar boat (literally )

Thanks for the answer, Lipsmack! I've notice that as well. It seems to be the norm for most e-tailers now. Amazon has gotten incredibly slow with their regular shipping, and even worse with their free shipping. Nowadays it's more surprising if something is shipped out in a timely manner!
