Re: Mad Max: Fury Road trailer

Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome certainly had their insane moments, though, which are some of the most memorable things from those films IMO.

Ironbar didn't work in Thunderdome compared with the henchmen from The Road Warrior, the slalom run whilst hanging from the side of the train was supposed to be funny but it just comes across as just mediocre.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road trailer

INSANE good, or insane bad? :lol

Insane GOOD!

That's pretty much how all the trailers show it to be.

Which the original three films aren't like.

In a good way, Evilface... as hard as "good" is for an Evilface to digest. He does the promo packs, on-set documentaries and blu ray extras stuff and was a big fan of Mad Max back in the day. But I have no idea of his general taste in movies now. Maybe he likes really bad stuff. We'll see.

I got my fingers crossed for George Miller.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road trailer

I just saw the preview and all it was was car crashes and explosions in the desert. The brief time you see Max, he's wearing a Bane mask lol.

As an Australian I feel there won't be much much to do with its origins in this film.
None of the main cast are Australian and they filmed it all in Africa. Sounds like it's just meant to be in the future, but doesn't really state where. I don't know whether Hardy is meant to put on an accent, or if he'll go with his own. Charlize just sounds American, even though she's South African lol.

I just don't know what to expect with this film. The preview really didn't show much at all about who the characters are. I will likely see it though.

Never seen the trailers for Mad Max 2 or Beyond Thunderdome?

I don't care what anyone says, i'll be seeing this opening weekend. It looks amazeballs.

I thought that was the general consensus :huh

You ain't kidding. Some celebrities can say whatever they want, while others cannot and get black balled from Hollywood like Gibson... but that's a whole other discussion :lol

I love how Gibson goes ape**** everytime he's reminded of his incidents.

He has a boss ass beard tho.

Even though it's a reboot, chances are it's still set in Oz. Miller wasted years waiting for the South Australian desert to lose its vegetation after record rainfalls. He eventually gave up and headed for Namibia cos it looked similar.

Hehe, yes, it didn't look too much like a desert at all after that. I remember that year, so much water everywhere.

What sucks about Mel Gibson is he seemed like a really cool guy and everyone liked him back in the 80's and early 90's. There are still people who stick up for him (Jodie Foster, RDJr) so I would guess there's more to him than the news stories he's been part of in recent years.

Mental illness or alcoholism... don't know which is the case. Perhaps both. They suck.
