If this game is so important that it decides home field advantage for the WS, why still have the stupid rule that every team needs 1 player represented? Christian Guzman :lol

At least expand the rosters or something.

Sorry, just need to vent.

I actually love the fact that every team is represented. There are more to the MLB than the Cubs, Red Sox and Yankees

If it was up to me, I'd rather set a maximum from one team to 3 before I got rid of the minimum.

I loved the game. A little long, had a wait a while to go to the store, but I highly enjoyed it. I would have LOVED to see Drew pitch, that would be been awesome. What would have happened if they had run out of players...?

I imagine the rules would be done away with and the teams would be allowed to do whatever necessary.

They couldn't have had Drew pitch, they'd have had no field replacement for him.

I don't know, I've always wondered about that, would they forfeit?

This is a guess, as I haven't heard anything, but I think they would have allowed pitchers who had already pitched earlier in the game to come back in.

There were a few guys that didn't pitch much.

My solution for future years would be to expand the pitching roster by either selecting more, or have the manager of each squad bring a player from his team over to play, only in emergencies.

I don't think they should expand the pitching rosters much, maybe 1 emergency backup only extra guy, but as it is, they have too many pitchers. Half the AL pitchers wouldn't have seen playing time if it weren't for extra innings, if they had more, in a normal situation it'd just be more guys with hopes of playing and possibly getting no time on the field.

I took delight in a Red Sox player taking the MVP in Yankee Stadium afterall all the hoopla surround the game :D

I liked that as well. Screw the Yankees.

They do need to expand the rosters but do something about how these guys get voted in. The Japanese guy from the cubs has no business starting or playing in this years game. His numbers don't justify it and actually Guzman has a better batting average than him. He's 7th in the NL right now at .313. Jason Varitek doesn't need to be there either batting .216 or something awful like that.

Glad to see Pujols and Soria do alright. :D

I was super-pumped to see Sheets start. Also, a little disappointed by Corey Hart and Ryan Braun. This was a chance to show the rest of the country what the Brewers are all about and they dropped the ball (or flat out missed it, in Hart's case). Oh well, it was still a phenomenal game.

Does anybody know what that business was between Zambrano and Manny?

Did you see Derek Jeter's numbers??? NOWHERE near justification to start an all-star game. Like hitting 275, 12 HR, 43 RBI......He just got voted in because he's a known name

I'm glad the AL won...it will ensure that the Red Sox will have the home advantage in the series.

That plays into it for sure. His numbers are good enough looking at the rest of the guys at his position but Young should have been starting as he has the overall better #.

I'm one to think that part of the AS game is RESPECT. Even if their numbers are down this year, if they are HOFers, I have no problem with them being voted in by fans.

Hell, I voted for Cal Ripken and Ozzie Smith every single year no matter what. I wanted to see them play.

What I have a problem with is guys getting in based on the team histories and population density rather than their individual career stats...Cubs, Yanks and Sox. Jeter is there because of his name and career, but Varitek and Fu-kodome are there solely by where they play.

BS Varitek(not allstar caliber this year i'll admit) was vote to the team by the players not the fans. ^^^odome and Jeter had no business being starters though thats for sure.

A's just traded Joe Blanton to the Phillie for two prospects.

Billy Beane has gotta run out of luck at some point...

GG

Leaves me hope that the Holliday to Philly rumors won't come true.

The Rox will not take leftovers for Holliday.

CC Sabathia was robbed of a no-hitter by the official scorer in Pittsburgh today.

I dunno if it will make highlights tonight, I imagine it will, but the way it went down was CC committed an error allowing a guy on base but the error was ruled a hit. :banghead :monkey2
