October will never be the same. :rock

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you, but CC couldn't carry the team on his own. I'm hoping CC comes back to roost in Cleveland but I think I'm only dreamin'. I'm sure he'll go out west or to one of the NY teams or Boston. :(

Too bad he can't pitch every night for you :monkey1

With Sheets questionable, just enjoy the 4 game series VS the Phils and consider yourselves lucky the Mets fell apart again

Wow! I just assumed the Brewers didn't make it! Sorry about my other post! Good luck!!!

I'm rooting for TB simply because they've been in the basement for years and I'd like to see them win it all. Or the Angels. Anyone but Boston.

Cliff Lee AL Cy Young!!!!

:rotfl I was wondering if that post was from the future or something.

Regarding the Brewers pitching, Yovani Gallardo will start game one. If you haven't had the chance to see this kid pitch, I invite you to watch game one. His last start, he was only allowed to pitch 4 innings, but he dropped 7 K's in that short amount of time.

Ben is out for the (post)season though. :monkey2 (according to local media)

I still *feel* like the Brewers have a legitimate shot, but it's hard to deny that they're hurting in the pitching department, and pitching wins baseball.

One last thing, CC Sabathia is both a phenomenal baseball player and human being. I'm glad we got the chance to know him better in Milwaukee, and even more glad he put our team on his back. He has a fan for life in me.

I don't follow the NL that close and last I looked, Brewers seemed out of it. CC is a good guy, too bad he wouldn't do any contract talks during the season. He'll want at least the same or more than Santana got, and I don't see Cleveland putting that much money into one player, which I understand. Hopefully with the playoff experience he got last year that he will do better this season for the Brewers.

Great ^^^^ dude. I'll be taking a nap tonight so I can stay up and watch the game. Should be a very good series. Just hope Beckett is the one we all know and love during October. I'm worried about his oblique.

Ya, I'm worried about Beckett, Drew and Lowell would be great to have but we've actually got a great backup roster this year for field positions, it's the pitching staff, as is often our problem, that's questionable.

I can't wait to see my boy Papelbon step in, his intensity during the playoffs is great, I'm on the edge of my seat for every pitch.

Between the caliber of LA and Boston, and the start time, I'm figuring it'll be at least like 1am EST before it's over, I'm going to be useless at work staying up for all the games the next few weeks, but bring it on, I love the playoffs, just wish I was back at college, that was a lot of fun in 04.

At least the next game isn't until Friday so that won't be so bad. And hopefully the Sox can finish at home then we won't have to worry about staying up until 1-2 in the morning :monkey4

Apparently you forget the ALCS last year, I think they all went til about 1am, it was damn near 2 the like 12 inning game, but I hear ya.

I'm going to a bachelor party Saturday at a bar right acrross the street from Fenway :rock Thankfully it's not a game night though, it'd rain on the festivities, better to have that fun and the game Friday.

Sox fans.....they sure come out of the woodwork when they win. And unfortunately for the rest of us, they have so much lately.

None of those games went the way I was hoping but were pretty enjoyable to watch anyway. I wish I could afford to take every afternoon off to watch the early games.

I'm a Sox fan all year, start to finish, win or lose, you have to be ready for that, it's just even more exciting when they're very successful cuz they sucked for so long.

You want to go back to the last couple baseball threads and check who's been rooting for who? Pull your head outta your ass. No one really talks sports on this board until the playoffs. That goes for every sport.

Did I hurt your little feelings? LOL. I'm not saying people are bandwagoners. I'm just saying every sport recently has had Boston all over it and frankly I'm tired of seeing their fans come out and brag.

Nothing personal against people of Boston. I'd say the same thing probably if I had to see people of Dallas, Miami, Chicago, whatever, every year for almost a decade.
