Man the Cards played like ass tonight O well its back to STL on Wed. I just love playoff time. It's always exciting seeing the two teams be pretty equal on skill. Love seeing the series tied. Always makes things more fun and exciting for the fans.

I think these days even pennant winners get rings. Which is pretty lame, IMO. The ring should only be for the world champions of any sport.

The Rockies used to fly a flag declaring themselves Wild Card Champion or something stupid like that for the 95 year. They finally took it down once we won a real pennant in 2007.

Still longing for an actual division title.

Little things like flying a division winner flag is important if you don't have 1 yet.

As a kid I used to love going to the A's games and pointing to all the flags.

I'm not sure about most teams, but I know the Cards don't hand out any trophies or rings unless it's the WS. I think, though, the owners can award the team anything it so chooses. I know the Reds gave themselves a trophy for winning the division this year.

I wonder if any of the teams would give themselves a "We lost 100 games" flag or ring.

The Cards did have NL champion rings for '04, but that's pretty standard stuff nowadays.

The worst banners in sports are probably in the NFL. The Colts used to fly an AFC Finalist banner celebrating their loss in a conference title game. There's also the Patriots 16-0 banner which I have hated since it went up.

The worst thing flying in any arena is the number 77 hanging in the Pepsi Center for when the Avs rented Ray Bourque for barely over a year. That's just silly. May as well fly Sandis Osolinsh's #8 or Uwe Krupp's #4.

And I thought the Sox honoring the 8 year anniversary of 2004 was bad.

The '91 team was more exciting but nothing will top the '87 team for us fans here. It was this city's first championship in anything, especially after losing 4 Super Bowls.
