:lecture Almost missed this. :D

No worries Aaron. :duff
The ump was definitely being generous.

I feel your frustration.
This series was as good as done.
I mean, Cards up 3 games to 1 and... well, let's just wait until tomorrow. :gah:

Thanks and sorry again, Tony.
You're right, though, Vogelsong still pitched a great game. Gotta give him credit for taking advantage and getting the Cards uncomfortable in the box.

We'll see what happens. I thought I buried the nightmares of 1996, but they're starting to resurface. :lol

Tigers will have had 6 days between games. Pretty long layoff but not compared to the 9 days the Rockies had to wait in 2007.

Can the Tigers bats comeback in time after such a long layoff?

Wonder if the Tigers shuffle their pitching staff to get Verlander in game 1?

Good season for the Cards who shouldn't have been in the playoffs to start. Let's go Tigers :rock

Really? The Cards have several top tier players and their division isn't exactly a beast. No surprise whatsoever that they made the playoffs. Good season, no need to qualify it by saying expectations were low.

Yeah, really. They had several injuries during the season and where very up and down all season long. I really wasn't expecting a playoff run to be honest. I figured they'd miss the playoffs this year and make it back next season.

To me "not expecting" is not the same as saying "they shouldn't be there."

Its not like battling the likes of the Brewers, Houston, and Pittsburgh should have seemed daunting at the start of the season. Pretty much should have been expecting at a minimum 2nd place to the Reds, if not first. From there, not hard at all to conceive that 2 out of 3 second place teams would make the playoffs. I would have been more surprised if they missed the playoffs than they were to make it. :dunno

Well, as a cards fan and someone who follows them I stand by what I said. Also what was being said by media and felt by fans over the course of the season. The Astros sucked bad this year but the pirates got better and are getting better, the brewers are still good, and the reds are as well. They didn't finish second by much over the brewers either. As I said with how things went over the course of the year not a lot of people expected them to make the playoffs. We got hot and got in and then just ran out of steam.

Probably the first year in years that I really could care less about The World Series. Disappointing to see the A's and the Cards lose....my two fave teams. Oh well, a Tigers/Giants series should be a tight match-up.
