Congratulations to the Giants fans!
Good luck to them and the Tigers in the World Series!

Good season for the Cards who shouldn't have been in the playoffs to start. Let's go Tigers :rock

:lecture

Almost made it back, Josh, almost. They just didn't get any breaks tonight, but it was fun while it lasted. Really bummed for Beltran, but hopefully they make another run next year.

And the Giants go to the World Series.

Sorry gibby and Josh. You guys had a great ride this year. :rock

Thank you, Six. I appreciate it. :1-1:

To me "not expecting" is not the same as saying "they shouldn't be there."

Its not like battling the likes of the Brewers, Houston, and Pittsburgh should have seemed daunting at the start of the season. Pretty much should have been expecting at a minimum 2nd place to the Reds, if not first. From there, not hard at all to conceive that 2 out of 3 second place teams would make the playoffs. I would have been more surprised if they missed the playoffs than they were to make it. :dunno

Prog - they lost two starting pitchers, the starting 1B and starting SS. Plus they had Waino coming back from TJ surgery. I'm almost positive no one else overcame those kind of injuries to make it in, but I could be wrong.

With how hot the Reds and Braves were, if it wasn't for the 2nd wild card, they don't get in.

Yeah, just ran out of gas. They'll bounce back though this is an organization that wants to win so I'm not worried.

Great season, Aaron and Josh. We just got a little more out of our staff in the end, and a lot of bounces went our way too...

And Josh, Molina completely outplayed Buster. Not that I would ever take Molina over Posey, but Yadi is a stud. Sorry I talked crap about his contract last winter. I was wrong.

Sorry Aaron and Josh, but hold your head up guys.
The Cards are a great team and a franchise that will continue to make a presence in the playoff season after season. No doubts there. :clap

Wednesday night it is.
Tigers and Giants at the big dance.

Thanks guys. The giants made plays when needed to keep on playing. That's what it takes this time of the year. Now, I can relax and just watch the series without the stress. :lol

Marco Scutaro, who crawled through a river of **** and came out clean on the other side.

Yeah...that **** included playing for am awful Rockies team. He really sucked while he was here. Mind wasn't in it, a lot of focus issues in the field.

Seems like a decent guy though.

Hey Gren, what's the deal with hiring John Farrell as the Red Sox manager? Why were they pursuing him do badly in which they provided compensation to the Blue Jays? I know he was your former pitching coach.

That's exactly why they pursued him. He made a great impression on ownership during his time here and he was well respected by the players. He's also credited pretty heavily for turning Lester and Buccholz into good starters and feel his return will fix them.

This is the guy they wanted last year and Toronto asked for Buccholz in return which was correctly shot down. Mike Aviles isn't much to give up.

I wonder what this past season would have been like with him (or Tito for that matter). Beckett probably isn't a total prick, Lester doesn't suck, and Crawford and Gonzo probably don't hit LA. Can't wait for the book on the Valentine season.:slap

Good info, thanks.

Lol at wanting Buchholz in return. :ohbfrank:

Tigers will have had 6 days between games. Pretty long layoff but not compared to the 9 days the Rockies had to wait in 2007.

Can the Tigers bats comeback in time after such a long layoff?

Called it.

Kung Fu Panda is giving the Crouching Tigers a beat down. :lol

The bats weren't the issue. Even Zito had an RBI

Not an issue? You don't win many World Series games scoring 1 run. Not that they should score 7 runs, but you can't have one of the most dangerous offenses in the game and put up 1 run and not be concerned a bit in that respect.
