At least the fans get to watch the Marlins lose in a fancy stadium.
No, not really. Fans don't care if the owner is "raking it in." Fans want a winning product on the field. Of course management makes this trade after receiving season ticket deposits for next season. Fans are screwed.
Actually they are pretty smart, sort of....they have 2 WS's in the last 15 years. They bought a WS in 97....sold off all those players for young prospects....won the WS in 04....sold off all those players....needed a new stadium...bought more players and once they did it for a year traded them all away....I guarantee you the owner of the Marlins is raking it in...even though they have had one of the worst attendance records in all of MLB....

On a more serious note...it really makes me wonder if he's in some trouble with the stadium financing deal. Doesn't make a ton of sense to drop THAT much payroll so swiftly.
^^ Goodness, that's awful.
Nah, he's not in trouble - he's just a thief. He makes a lot of money in revenue sharing.
Also, with it's ~$2 million cost, that outfield bonanza is now the 2nd highest-paid player on the team.
If the SEC finds wrongdoing in the investigation, it can choose to bring a civil suit against parties involved, issue fines or refer the case to the United States Department of Justice for possible criminal charges.
My Angles are turning into Yankees west.
It shall be funny to see both the Angels and Dodgers miss the playoffs again with those salaries.
