I say, just ship it back and get it over with. It isn't worth the hassle to fight it out.

But here's the thing: I didn't receive a complete refund, only a PARTIAL refund (about $10 less than I paid). I was willing to eat that and let it go... but now this??? :cuss

And there is no way in hell I am paying for returning shipping costs.

Ship it back... but first wrap it in really old fish (or equivalent) and then pack it up to ship (wearing noseplugs of course).

Why did you only get a partial refund?

I am kind of going through this whole thing myself right now so I am really interested. I got something that was significantly different than what was listed as well. I don't even want to be out return shipping but it seems inevitable.

You know what? That seller has balls. He knows damn well he sold you a complete piece of censored and mislead you and any other bidders on purpose and now he actually wants it back? Too funny.

I'd e-mail him and tell him you'll send it back once he sends you the shipping cost!

I got a Partial Refund because that jabroni didn't have enough $$$ in his PayPal account to cover the full amount.

So, I figured, "What the hell... at least I'll keep the crappy vintage Vader and silly display stand for my $10 and trouble" but now the a-hole has filed the dispute (he also filed a Non-Payment claim eith eBay!!!!!) :monkey4

That's what I said in both the SquareTrade and eBay disputes: I'll happily send this POS back to him... IF he gives me the rest of my refund plus covers shipping costs.

Wow, this guy is a piece of work. I am sorry to hear about your troubles, I hope my dispute goes a little better.

I have no clue what you should do. I mean, you are entitled to a full refund and didn't get one. Now he wants his crappy doll back and you will be out not only return shipping but a percentage of what you already paid. :monkey4 You can't win. Maybe you should file a claim with your credit card company. They don't take bull.

I would tell them to get ###ked.
If he sends you the $10 and return shipping, and YOUR handling costs, say $15, then send him his doll back.

A lesson for everyone. I've had a couple of disputes with ebay and Paypal, back in the days of 'World of Springfield', buying talking sets, which never showed up. After discovering I'd been had, I went straight to the credit card company and done a chargeback. Paypal sent an email telling me I'd violated their terms and conditions, by requesting a chargeback, I simply replied that I paid Paypal the money, therefore I charge Paypal for the loss. If they want to get their money back, they have to charge their customer (ie the fraudster). No fuss, no mess, NO ADMIN fees.

You pay money to Paypal. Credit card company charges back paypal. You get your money back on your account straight away. I still use paypal every day, and they never got back to me about either charge back. Paypal and ebay try it on almost as much as the fraudsters do, but get to know your rights and there is not much they can do. Whereas ebay and Paypal will do everything they can to make it hard for you to claim, the credit card companies, don't take no ****, and simply charge the company who makes a charge on their card, ie Paypal. It's then down to Paypal to plead their case with the credit card company, much as they like to get you to pleasd with them. Play them at their own game. I think you'll be surprised at the results!!

One point worth noting, I am in the UK, so I'm not sure on local laws in the States, but I'd imagine charge back laws are the same worldwide.

Just for laughs I would go get a 3 3/4" Vader, dirty him up a bit, remove the cape and saber and mail it to him in a paper envelope.

Paypal would have no chance to get the chargeback reversed. I worked in retail for a long time and if we got a chargeback it took an act of god to get it reversed. I have an issue right about now too, I have a item that has not shipped yet. Its getting drop shipped by MR and have an email from MR confirming that its order and being shipped. I am getting a lil tired of waiting and about to file a claim.

HAHAHA! Awesome idea. Then say you thought it was the same one, but made a mistake LOL!

Man Irish, that is messed up! Not only does this POS not have enough to cover the charge back that Paypal gave you, not him... but then has the balls to file a claim against you afterwards!

What a jerk!

Okay, so this sad saga is apparently not yet over. :banghead

I opened up my email this morning to see that this a-hole has filed a disputed against ME with SquareTrade! Check this ****e out:

Okay, so it was annoying before... now it's really starting to piss me off. :cuss

Wow, I say you should push this guy to get a check to cover shipping the thing back, they have absolutely no right to expect anything from you, if people are going to ignorantly sell items on eBay, it's all their problem when it goes bad, if you don't know what something is, you should either not sell it or not use pictures and post a generic description, it's unbelievable how some people can be on that site, and it's a shame because if used properly it's a great resource for rare and hard to find items.

IJ - Wow! I'd swear your "better half" is SMG/Buffy's long lost sister or twin or whatever!

No way. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.

And she's much cuter than SMG. ;)

Ya, I'd say between the two you got the better deal, at least your girl's nose doesn't look busted like SMG!

Nothing wrong with busted noses!
Mine was broken 7 times before I was 25. The doctor looked up my nose and said "Wow' I don't impress easily, but thats alot of scar tissue."

are you actor Owen Wilson by any chance?!

:D

Irish, Sounds like you ran in to one of those ebay psychos that everybody eventually has to come across if they use ebay long enough.

just wait until you get one that sends you death threats:lol

When you run into these people, it never really matters how nice of a person you are or how considerate you try to be. If you keep a perfect ebay rating, people will try to use that against you to manipulate. I had been on ebay for 7 years with a perfect rating the whole time, then ended up with 1 neutral from some chump even after I went out of my way to make him 100% happy (which was impossible). I'm not going to leave anybody bad feedback unless they just completely screw me over. I've ran into an equal amount of crazy sellers & buyers over the years, ebay is just a strange place.

PS - Congrats on the hottie!:chew
