Re: The Man of Steel

I haven't even watched the trailer yet or seen that suit, but just seeing a bit of his suit in that gif I want a HT Zod figure.

Thanks bud!:rock

Exactly what I thought of when I saw this scene. I DBZ movie in true form would be awesome, not like the abomination that was created a few years back.:slap

Re: The Man of Steel

This will be a hit if less time is spent on Costner scene-chewing and more time on flying, punching and zapping scenes.

Re: The Man of Steel

Well it'll be a good film if it spends the time to establish Clark's character in the first half. I'm sure they'll be plenty of action in the 2nd half. Without characters the audience can empathise with, the action is devalued.

Being a good film doesn't guarantee it financial success though, clearly. But I think this trailer's had a pretty positive response around the interwebz, so that's a good start.

Here's hoping they bump that "first half" into the first act, so we can enjoy 2/3rds of a film with some kickass Superman action for a change.

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah, the time is certainly right for a new take on Superman, & coupled with the fact that the right people seem to be on board.. things look pretty steady so far. :)

Someone mentioned that the young Clark scenes would be flashbacks. I'm thinking this too. Remember how they tackled Batman Begins. We see Bruce in Prison and them flashback. Probably the same here. He may be in a fishing town in New England somewhere and sees a school bus drive by when he is reminded of the bus incident where he saves the kids. I love Diane Lane and I think she has the emotional depth to help Clark through figuring out his powers and what that will mean for him.

I think there's a fair chance of that. I'm thinking:

Act I - maybe non-linear interspersed flashbacks filling the blanks in Clark's upbringing. Similar to BB.

How the rest of the film falls into place is anyone's guess, except that presumably there will be a climax at the end with a Zod/Superman faceoff in Metropolis.

EDIT: Yeah I'm expecting something pretty much like jedijim posted above.
