Johny Depp mostly...

Re: The Man of Steel

Young Clark is definitely saying "the World is too big mom," not "the font is too big mom." :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Well it'll be a good film if it spends the time to establish Clark's character in the first half. I'm sure they'll be plenty of action in the 2nd half. Without characters the audience can empathise with, the action is devalued.

everybody knows who is what. they just need to get on with the show

Re: The Man of Steel

Often I feel the same way, but I don't really agree in this case. This version of Superman will presumably have several differences in his origin from Reeve/Routh. And some of those factors that affect him in important ways as an adult will need to be laid out and discussed in effective ways. Superman is the kind of character that can be made complex, but to do that you really do have to get into where he came from, and what it is that made him behave the way he does as a man. Why would an invincible, super powered alien who can fly (and possibly doesn't need to breath, sleep, or eat) spend all his energy doing good things for these weak, self-destructive insects? This needs to be fleshed out a bit, and I can only assume will be a major area of conflict between Kal-L and Zod.

Re: The Man of Steel

Disagree. I don't hear world at all.

'Font' is a strange word for a kid to use but just not hearing 'world' there. :dunno

"World" is clear as day. It fits with what Ma Kent says about focusing on her voice as a foundation. To assume that he is saying "font" is non-nonsensical. How does it fit with what Ma Kent replies?

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah I don't hear the word "font" at all. That would be an extremely weird thing for him to say anyway.:lol

Maybe he was talking about the size of the font on the "S" on his costume. Ma Kent sewed it for him so maybe he wanted the s smaller? Lol

:lol

In all seriousness, I think he gets his costume from the Fortress of Solitude...

Being a good film doesn't guarantee it financial success though, clearly. But I think this trailer's had a pretty positive response around the interwebz, so that's a good start.

Here's hoping they bump that "first half" into the first act, so we can enjoy 2/3rds of a film with some kickass Superman action for a change.

Re: The Man of Steel

Wow. Really? What would be the context, in your mind, that he would say that?

World comes through clear as day on my speakers. Font? Really, lol?

Watch the trailer. Right after he says it they show a bunch of pencils and then him writing on the board.
So the context is that 'The font's too big.... make it small' relates to his super vision
And then 'focus on my voice, pretend it's an island' relates to his super hearing.

I've got audiophile level headphones on and I don't hear anything resembling 'world' and i've got that section on repeat.

It COULD be world but the kid must have serious pronunciation issues in that case. :lol
I can hear a 'FF' sound at the beginning of the word clear as day. The rest of it is not clear at all.
