Re: The Man of Steel

Lots of people think they share a ressemblance, just not the butt hurt Star Wars fans that blame the ****ty acting on the actor and not on George Lucas's award winning scripts.

Scorpion jacket is still gay.:wave

You mad?

I guess you consider yourself and two others "lots of people." :rotfl

You would know.:wink1:

Re: The Man of Steel

Why not a close to perfect Superman trilogy as well as a badass JL film? With the right writing/production teams, no reason that can't happen.

As of right now im more concerned with this being a good film rather than the JL, as should Warner Bros.

Re: The Man of Steel

Word around town is that Warners is really IMPRESSED with this! Well it looks great, and i want it to be great! But the fact they keep bringing up the JLA movie, like its all riding on Man of Steel. It be cool if mabey they did this

SHOOT 2 Movies at the same time, like Donner was doing and what they did for the matrix sequels, Plan for a year, shoot for a year, and then be in post for a year, that gives you 3 years and 2 blockbusters. you could release 6 months to a year apart THEN in the thrid film make it all boil to a head and have the JLA movie, i mean alot of people say they want solo movies but i dont think so, they gotta be bold and different and come upwith this steller story to tell, it should compete with what marvels doing, not just come after and rehash.

Or mabey its all smoke, someone above mentioned that the WB will just keep bringing up a JLA movie just to keep the investors happy. Im glad they havnt rushed into things in the past like Nicholas Cage Superman and Batman & Robin part du but its time to get the ball rolling. Im hype for man of steel lets invest in the film!

Re: The Man of Steel

Eggcellent. On a side note, I was thinking today about possible directors for a Justice League movie, and I actually had a thought about Andrew Stanton. John Carter was a flop of epic proportions, but I feel that that was mainly due to the poor marketing. Overall, I thought it was a solid film, and, regardless of some of the pacing issues, I think that he did a very good job with his direction of the film; he seemed to know how to make a sci-fi movie of epic proportions, and I could actually envision what he could do with the JL in my head.

I just saw John Carter and I agree with your little review. Pacing was off in some areas and some the character development was too quick to be understanding.

I also think Taylor Kitsch was NOT the right actor for the role. Did he look the part? Yes. But he doesn't carry much weight as a leading actor nor did he really draw me in to invest in his version of John Carter. His facial expressions of emotion were poor and he was giving off this aura of stupid cockiness...not SLY cockiness...he just was overall dumb.

I'll say it again. Dejah Thoris...Lynn Collins...HOT. The second best part was seeing Ciaran Hinds and James Purefoy reunited on-screen. They were awesome together as Caesar and Antony in ROME.

Never thought of Stanton but i think he would do a great job! I loved John Carter!!!

I would be really happy if the rumored runtime is right, Man of Steel needs to be atleast 2 hours, with atleast 3 major action sequences!

Re: The Man of Steel

This movie kinda has me nervous. Nothing from the trailers has me excited, i hope they are saving most of the awesome for on screen.

(really want this to be good)

Re: The Man of Steel

The trailer alone has made me a true believer in the fact that Superman is the greatest comicbook character ever.

I can't remember the last time a commercial had me this excited to see a movie.

Maybe it was the LOTR music that threw me off in the first one. And the dreary sound of the second. (JW anyone? Kidding not going there)

Just didn't see much that "wowed" me. But i am optimistic they are saving the best for the actual movie as a lot of movies give away the good stuff and blow the load early.

Glad you are pumped, Superman is my second favorite Superhero. (and a new good film is needed)

Re: The Man of Steel

I think Lisa Gerard has a lot to do with why the second trailer is as powerful as it is. I've never been impressed with a Superman movie. Apparently, I've waited a long time for it. I've always considered Batman and Wolverine to be my favorites, but this has pulled something out of a hidden basement in my subconscious that was so deep down, I didn't know it was there.

If this movie sucks, I'll be crushed. If it lives up to my expectations, it will be one of the best movies of the last 100 years.
