Every super hero movie now is over-the-top apocalyptic in some way. They keep having to outdo the previous flick; more explosions, bigger fight scenes, multiple heroes/villains, etc. Dark World, then Thanos, probably Galactus to follow...gone are the days of Spidey vacuuming up the Sandman.

The Williams score and the Reeve films will always hold a special place in my heart, but I love this. When I listen to it, I hear what Superman represents to me. The somewhat somber tones of the piano growing more and more uplifting as you get more of an orchestral sound; I've always been of the opinion that Superman is a symbol of hope for us all, and that he is meant to inspire and to uplift; the music, I feel fits that theme perfectly.
