Re: The Man of Steel

Are you going to a midnight showing? Let me know what you think. If you like it, I'll wait for Redbox. :lol

You should Redbox regardless, apparently it'll save you alot of crying and whining. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Don't know why but Batman movie posters are a must for me. Superman not a must, even if MOS kicks ***.

I have a double-sided Superman Returns poster in my study. Movie was alright. Poster is iconic. Not sure if I'm going to get a MOS poster, though. If so, probably the teaser ... bit more subtle than the rest.

Actually, don't have any Batman posters. Probably ought to get one.

Raiders is my favorite movie, TDKR was just ok, certainly a disappointment after TDK.

I own absolutely nothing Raiders related other than the DVD (not even bluray) yet I have a TDKR poster on my wall. :lol

More like :slap

Re: The Man of Steel

Odd how sometimes the better poster doesn't come from the better movie. For all the love I have for the three Nolan Batman movies ... none of the Batman-related posters caught my eye as iconic enough to buy yet. Couple of the Begins ones were alright, I guess. As far as I'm concerned, the best Batman one was the TDKR Imax poster. I probably ought to get one of the Joker posters, though -- either the 'why so serious?' or the one where he's facing the other way. Those are certainly iconic enough ... just never got around to them.

I have one of the Indy silhouette KOTCS teaser posters, which I like a lot. It isn't hanging right now because the kids took the man-cave for a while. But, it'll go up eventually. If I got a Raiders of the Lost Ark poster -- which I should -- I think I'd want the Imax re-release one. Unique, and great looking ...

Not that any of this has a damn thing to do with MOS ... but, we've gotta talk about something, I guess.

Re: The Man of Steel

Wasn't the review embargo supposed to be lifted today?? Where are da reviews for this movie. I don't want to read spoilers but would be cool just to get an idea of how the movie was received by critics. I am seeing the movie regardless on the 13th but a damn 0 on tomato meter 3 days before its premiere is strange for a movie of this caliber.

Maybe warner doesn't care about what the critics think, most liked superman returns and that movie barely broke even. Maybe they don't want to jinx themselves or something and are trying a different approach not using reviews to sell the movie to the public, basically saying fu to critics since their glowing reviews didn't help SR sell tickets. Who knows??

If this was any other movie no reviews would be a major red flag. I don't typically see movies that receive embargos/gag orders because it most always means the movie is complete crap and the filmmakers don't want people to know how bad it is until they sucker people into buying tickets.

Yeah, I'm interested in the critics reviews also...I heard somewhere that the emargo was going to be lifted late tonight, I could be wrong tho..We'll see..

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah I guess the reviews should be up after 10 PM this evening. I don't know why I am so excited to read reviews but I am. Also, I miss Roger Ebert. I always read his reviews and respected his opinion whether I agreed or not.

I'll be watching MOS Wednesday evening :yess: Can't decide to do 3D or 2D for the first showing. Part of me wants to watch the spectacle in 3D the first time, but I know Snyder shot it in 2D. Kind of leaning towards 2D for this reason.

Re: The Man of Steel

Well, the whirlwind begins (actually began over the weekend... I was in Charlotte, NC and Metropolis, IL)....

7 cities in 5 days. :thud:

See you guys on the flip-side.

Oh, and ENJOY THE MOVIE! :rock :hi5:

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah, very briefly tomorrow afternoon, then off to Houston then Chicago. All in the same day. :thud:

Thankfully, Weds & Thurs won't be quite as crazy... NYC & Boston Weds, San Francisco Thurs and then L.A. Friday and weekend.

I'm already tired. :lol

Hectic. I got passes to a Dallas screening tomorrow, so I was wondering if it had to do with that.
